One of America’s most influential “experts” on combating hate just got arrested on charges of fraudulently funneling cash to white supremacist groups and financing her romantic relationship with a leader of a neo-Nazi group.
In a 2021 testimony to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, Heidi Beirich declared, “There is no question that the major terrorism threat to the U.S. is coming from the far right.” That testimony forms part of her influence on federal policy, military policy, artificial intelligence companies, social media content moderation, and international advisory bodies.
Yet Beirich now stands accused of conspiring to create fake bank accounts to prop up the very extremism she has built a name for herself supposedly combatting.

A special education teacher who recruited black people to “shoot some guns” and “rob some white people” is now banned from the school where she worked and is under police investigation.
Kenisha Daily, a special ed teacher at Madera Unified School District in Fresno posted several disturbing videos of herself on social media over the weekend describing her want to create a “black militia.” Daily also loaded weapons, including a shotgun and a pistol, in the videos.

Canadian researchers using artificial intelligence to track foreign interest in the Alberta separatism debate have found the province’s political discourse is being targeted online by Russian and American interests in both overt and covert ways.
The first data from a study that began last month indicate Russian content farms have been pushing pro-separatist content into online communities and using Canadians to “launder” those messages by sharing such material on their social media feeds, the researchers said.
