Mayor Bally Bagayoko of Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, France, with an immigrant population of about 40 per cent, has called on French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen to be denied airtime by the French media.
He spoke in favour of mandated censorship in an interview with the broadcaster LCI, in the wake of a recent shooting in Trappes, France. On 23 October, a gunman shot eight people, killing one and injuring seven, in Trappes. President Emmanuel Macron of France has called the shooting a ‘racist terrorist attack’.
