Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the US to sell him 10 per cent of its Patriot missiles to help Ukraine intercept Russian strikes.
Kyiv is suffering critical shortages of the defensive weapons, which are the only systems in its arsenal capable of intercepting incoming ballistic missiles.
“This year we have two and a half less interceptors than we had in 2025,” the Ukrainian president said in an interview with CNN. “Russia has two times more ballistic missiles per month than they had before.”

OTTAWA — An Austrian man who has been permanently banned from the United Kingdom for promoting extremist narratives said this week he hopes Canada won’t deny him entry ahead of a conference he’s set to speak at in Hamilton this month.

Canada says immigration applications are assessed individually in response to cases of Iranians who completed mandatory military service with the Revolutionary Guards receiving letters warning they could be deemed inadmissible on security grounds.

The government has promised to replace the 15-per-cent contributions with government funding but the groups say that is no substitute.
A letter to Carney signed by 50 organizations says the promised annual funding, unlike a CRTC-regulated contribution regime, can be changed through the federal budget.
