Man viewed extreme Isis content before Reading knife attack, court hears

A man who stabbed three people to death in a minute in an alleged terrorist rampage had viewed material about a notorious Isis executioner, a court has heard.

Khairi Saadallah murdered three men in a park in Reading on 20 June as they enjoyed a summer’s evening.

A hearing at the Old Bailey to determine if the attacks were terrorist acts and therefore subject to a higher sentence, was told that Saadallah viewed extremist material in the days before the attack and had a longstanding interest in extremism.

BLM UK leader calls for a race offenders registry

A prominent Black Lives Matter activist in the United Kingdom is calling for the British government to extend its laws against hate speech through the establishment of a “race offenders” registry similar to a registry on sex offenders. The proposed national database would include anyone “accused” or “charged” with racism and those on the list would be barred from holding certain jobs or living near non-white people.

Lockerbie bombing: Alleged bomb-maker charged on 32nd anniversary of attack

The US has announced charges against a Libyan suspected of making the bomb that blew up Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988.

Abu Agila Mohammad Masud has been charged with terrorism-related crimes, Attorney General William Barr said on Monday, 32 years on from the atrocity.

The deadly bomb attack on the Boeing 747 killed 270 people, including 190 American citizens.

Prosecutors will seek the extradition of Mr Masud to stand trial in the US.

Manchester police chief resigns as force placed under watchdog monitoring for letting 80,000 crimes go unrecorded

The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has resigned and the force was placed under ‘special measures,’ after a scathing report found it failed to record 80,000 crimes in a year, including domestic abuse cases.

Ian Hopkins, who spent 13 years in the top job, announced his resignation in a statement on Friday, saying the “challenging” issues faced by GMP should be addressed by a new chief constable.

To their credit Manchester Police did harass multiple Twitter users.

Ahdel ‘Eddie’ Ali, 32, led a sex gang with his brother Mubarak – known as Max- which targeted up to 100 vulnerable young women in Telford, Shropshire between 2006 and 2009.

Authorities turned a blind eye to group-based child-sexual exploitation because of racial sensitivities.

The Home Office report into group-based child sexual exploitation – more informally described as grooming gangs – has led many to conclude that the perceived prevalence of Asian or Pakistani Muslim perpetrators is a right-wing myth.

But this debate glosses over what remains the greatest problem on this front: the story is not so much the ethnic composition of grooming gangs, but rather how the ethnic composition of certain gangs influences how public authorities respond to these cases.

“If the question is which state will be shaping our world across the next decade providing big opportunities and big challenges for the UK, the answer is China,” Britain’s new MI5 Director Ken McCallum recently told journalists. He added that Russia is currently “providing bursts of bad weather, while China is changing the climate”. McCallum said that countries such as China and Russia were no longer focused just on traditional espionage activities, such as stealing government secrets, but also on targeting Britain’s economy, infrastructure and academic research, while seeking to undermine its democracy.

“The UK wants to co-operate with China on the big global issues like climate change, while at the same time being robust in confronting covert hostile activity when we come across it,” he said. “[MI5 is] looking to do more against Chinese activity, carefully prioritised.”

Kameel Ahmady: British FGM academic ‘jailed in Iran’

A British-Iranian academic has been sentenced to eight years in prison by a court in Tehran, his lawyer says.

Kameel Ahmady was convicted of “collaborating with a hostile government”, Amir Raesian tweeted.

One local news agency said he was given a nine-year sentence for illegally receiving funds from institutions trying to topple the Iranian regime.

Mr Ahmady is an anthropologist who has studied child marriage, female genital mutilation and sexuality in Iran.

UK to Ban Asylum Claims from Migrants Caught at Sea Leaving Safe EU

Britain will ban illegal aliens from making asylum claims if they are intercepted at sea after leaving the safety of the European mainland, the government has claimed.
