Canada-U.S. border restrictions extended another month to June 21

OTTAWA — CTV News has learned that the Canada-U.S. border will remain closed to non-essential travel for at least another month, just days before the current agreement was set to expire.

Non-essential travel restrictions have been in place between the two countries since March 21, 2020. The provision exempts the flow of trade and commerce, as well as vital health-care workers such as nurses who live and work on opposite sides of the border.

Ontario reports 1,600+ COVID-19 cases; lowest daily count since late March

Ontario reported the lowest number of new daily COVID-19 cases since late March on Tuesday, with 17 additional deaths, as hospitalizations continued a slow creep downward.

The province reported 1,616 cases on Tuesday, more than 500 fewer than each day of the previous weekend.

Brig.-Gen. Krista Brodie to replace Fortin on COVID-19 vaccine rollout

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) says Brig.-Gen. Krista Brodie will take over as the general in charge of overseeing the delivery and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines across Canada.

In a statement released Monday evening, PHAC president Iain Stewart said Brodie will assume the role of vice-president of vaccine logistics and operations “effective immediately.”

“Ultimately, here’s the rub. I don’t know whether it came from the lab. Nobody knows whether it came from the lab,” Paul, a physician, said Tuesday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” “But who would be culpable? Dr. Fauci could be culpable for the entire pandemic.”

A Freedom demonstration in Ottawa, Canada dwarfed an anti-Israel protest over the weekend. Both were a part of global demos worldwide, but that is where their similarities end.

RAIR Foundation USA was at both the communist-supported protest, as well as the media-suppressed Worldwide Demonstration over the weekend. At one point, the larger rally marched past the antisemitic protest, as captured by RAIR.

‘Significant’ mail declines, high costs plague Canada Post’s bottom line

Despite record domestic parcel growth, Canada Post cited “significant mail declines and high COVID-19 related costs” as the reasons behind last year’s $779 million before-tax loss.

In last year’s third quarter, the postal service had reported a year-to-date $709 million loss. Now, in its 2020 financial report, Canada Post is reporting a nearly $780 million overall loss for last year – a fivefold increase from 2019’s $153 million loss. Although parcels revenue grew by 25 per cent compared to 2019, direct marketing – once a mainstay of Canada Post’s bottom line – followed a similar trajectory to transaction mail, mostly comprised of letters, bills and statements.

The COVID-19 Test No One Is Talking About: Make Sure Your Children Have It Before They Are Vaccinated

We are already seeing colleges and universities requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for students to attend classes in the fall. The vaccine is being tested for children under 16, and there may be school districts that attempt to require it in the fall. All of this pressure to vaccinate the young, given their relative resilience to severe disease and near-zero fatality rate from COVID-19, is unprecedented. The health bureaucracy is not nearly as insistent about the flu vaccine, even though it often makes children much sicker and often carries higher fatality rates in children.

Provincial health officials logged 2,170 new COVID-19 infections today, down slightly from the 2,199 cases confirmed on Sunday.

Today’s tally is a notable drop from the 2,716 cases reported last Monday.
