John Robson: Perhaps Erin O’Toole and Jason Kenney could try being conservatives

The front page of Tuesday’s National Post highlighted the obvious troubles of Jason Kenney and Erin O’Toole , namely dismal polling numbers and party revolts. But the cause deserves attention too: Both deliberately jettisoned any semblance of principle in pursuit of partisan gain and for some reason aren’t popular with conservatives or voters. Weird, huh?

Liverpool suicide bomber built ‘Mother of Satan’ explosive filled with ballbearings

The Liverpool suicide attacker built a ‘Mother of Satan’ ball bearing bomb used by ISIS extremists to ’cause maximum carnage’ and may have been driven to take revenge after his asylum bids kept being turned down, it was claimed today.

Enzo Almeni, 32, a Muslim who converted to Christianity four years ago, was killed after the homemade device exploded as his taxi pulled up at Liverpool Women’s Hospital just before before the 11am minute’s silence on Remembrance Sunday.

His bomb was made using homemade TATP explosives. TATP is unstable and known as a ‘Mother of Satan’ because it is liable to blow up accidentally. It was used by Islamist terrorist in the Paris suicide attacks of 2015, the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017 and the failed Parsons Green Underground station.

Santa’s vaccine passport prompts supermarket boycott

The UK’s advertising watchdog is probing an advert from supermarket giant Tesco in which perennial festive figure Santa Claus whips out his vaccine passport at the border amid concern for his free movement, saving Christmas.

On Saturday, Tesco premiered its 90-second TV ad, set to Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, in which plucky Britons are seen determined to enjoy their Christmas after 18 months of Covid-19 restrictions and a subdued festive period in 2020.

Ford government promises $75M over next 3 years to fight gun, gang violence in campaign-style announcement

The Ontario government announced Tuesday it will invest $75.1 million over the next three years to combat gun violence and crime across the province at a campaign-style announcement in Toronto.

The move, which comes not long after calls to defund the police made headlines, was included in the recent fall economic statement.

“Gun and gang violence will not be allowed to thrive in Ontario,” Premier Doug Ford said at a news conference Tuesday, ahead of the June election. “There can be no mercy when it comes down to cracking down on these crimes.”

This will work as well as all the other millions thrown at “Gangs and Guns” I’m betting.

Rex Murphy: We need a goal of net-zero climate conferences by 2030

Lorrie Goldstein — sage columnist and editor emeritus of the Toronto Sun — is among the first to call for an end to the gigantic, carbon-spewing gatherings of tech tycoons, decaying aristocrats, current and former heads of state, louche Hollywood prattlers and green fanatics, known as the Conference of the Parties, which, for 26 consecutive years, have tormented the sanity of the world. With immensely refreshing directness, the lede sentence of his latest column says what needs to be said: “It’s time to put the United Nations’ annual global gabfest on climate change out of its misery and ours.”

The Lab Leak Fiasco

For over a year the media enforced falsehoods about the pandemic’s origins, never evaluated the evidence, never apologized, and was never held accountable

On Jan. 24, 2020, British peer-reviewed journal The Lancet published a study on a novel coronavirus it identified as 2019-nCoV. The study substantially contradicted the official Chinese government narrative about when and how the virus originated, placing its emergence months earlier. It also cast doubt on how the virus emerged. While the Chinese government had pointed to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, the now-infamous wet market in Wuhan, the paper found that at least one-third of initial cases—including “patient zero,” the first person known to have been sick with the virus—had no connection to the market whatsoever.

The Climate Change Social Engineering Project

Such projects need two things to be implemented without causing a revolt.

John Kerry – Lunatic

We are now in the midst of the greatest social engineering experiment ever foisted off on the American people. If conservatives and Republicans do not put brakes on it in the next few years, it will do irrevocable damage to our society and our economy. The contrived war on climate change is an overblown threat pushed on gullible Americans over the last two decades by leftist progressives, the mainstream media, and elites in the New York-D.C.-Hollywood axis. That agenda has far less to do with saving the planet than it does with destroying the oil, coal, and natural gas industries that have fueled the American economic miracle for over a century. This cabal would see us become dependent on inefficient, inferior, and overly expensive energy sources.

GOLDSTEIN: Economic freedom falling across Canada — report

Economic freedom is on the decline across Canada, according to a new study by the Fraser Institute.

The fiscally-conservative think tank said that based on the latest available data from 2019 — the year before the COVID-19 global pandemic hit — all 10 Canadian provinces were far down the list of economic freedom when compared with 51 U.S. and 31 Mexican states.

A Conversation with Anne Marie Waters

Anne Marie Dorothy Waters is a politician and activist in the United Kingdom. She founded and leads the For Britain Party.

Grégoire Canlorbe: Please tell us about the political party you founded and are currently leading, For Britain. What are its ambitions—and its strategy?

Anne Marie Waters: Our ambitions are large (always think big!). We want to build a mass movement of the millions who have been sidelined and excluded from public life in the UK. This is a movement for those who are not far right or racist but want to end this mass immigration that threatens our culture and identity: those who know and understand that Black Lives Matter are a neo-Marxist group intent on violently dismantling our society; those who can see that Islam is not peaceful and has brought horrors (including the gang rape of young girls and terror attacks) to our shores, and those who know that our government lies to us time and again. We live in a UK where free speech is a thing of the past, our media is merely a mouthpiece of government diktats, and where people are demonized and smeared, and now even murdered, for holding informed opinions. We are in a Britain that resembles the communist Soviet Union: fear, censorship, excessive government control.

While They Call the Rioter Who Testified Against Rittenhouse a “Hero,” His Criminal Record Reveals a Violent History

The left cheered on 28-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz when he took the stand against Kyle Rittenhouse. To them, he was a hero who attempted to stand up to what they’re calling a mad white supremacist with an assault rifle, and when Grosskreutz and his missing chunk of arm testified against the teenager who shot him, mainstream press outlets were sympathetic and Twitter aflutter.

Line 5: Questions Remain Even as White House Says No Shutdown

Enbridge’s pipeline supplies Eastern Canada with much of its energy supply

With climate pledges and inflation running high on both sides of the border, a recent report made some waves by indicating that the Biden administration was evaluating the impacts of shutting down a major Canadian pipeline passing through the U.S. state of Michigan.

Politico reported in early November that the White House was doing a “deep data dive” to evaluate the impacts on fuel prices in Michigan and surrounding areas if Enbridge’s Line 5 were to be shut down.
