Trump tells UN General Assembly immigration, green energy policies ‘destroying’ the world

U.S. President Donald Trump delivered his first in-person address to the United Nations General Assembly in seven years on Tuesday, telling those assembled that “your countries are going to hell” due to green energy policies and what he characterized as runaway migration.

Trump defended the efforts of his administration to secure its southern border and warned of the “death of Western Europe” from migration. He also took aim at UN programs that support the world’s refugees.

“The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not finance them,” said Trump, using a term for mass movements of people that activists have criticized for being dehumanizing.

Elsewhere, Trump dismissed climate change as the ” greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.”

Nexstar joins Sinclair & refuses to air Jimmy Kimmel’s return to ABC over Charlie Kirk controversy

Nexstar Media Group said Tuesday it will keep “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off its ABC stations following his false claim that Charlie Kirk was killed by a MAGA supporter.

The announcement came just a day after Sinclair Broadcast Group revealed it would preempt the late-night show despite Disney returning Kimmel to the air.

That means ABC’s two biggest station owners, overseeing dozens of local affiliates, will not show the late-night host’s return to the airwaves on Tuesday.

Public safety minister’s ‘misguided’ comments in leaked audio undermined the Liberal’s gun buyback program, critics charge

OTTAWA—Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree was on the defensive Monday after a leaked audio recording revealed him making “misguided” comments that critics charged undermine the contentious and long-delayed federal gun buyback program ahead of its start.

As first reported by the Star, Anandasangaree claimed in a secretly recorded conversation that Mark Carney’s government is forging ahead with the roughly $750-million Trudeau-era gun ban and buyback program because of electoral pressures from Quebec, despite questions about its effectiveness and stringent opposition from provinces, police and gun owners across the rest of the country.

Trump signs executive order designating Antifa a ‘domestic terrorist organization’

President Trump signed an executive order Monday designating the shadowy, left-wing group Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization,” according to the White House.

The order comes after Trump teased slapping a terror label on the radical “anti-fascist” group last week.

“I hereby designate Antifa as a ‘domestic terrorist organization,’” read the president’s order.

Men accused in alleged extremist plot moved money to buy weapons, military gear: RCMP

An RCMP investigation into the financial records and mail use of men accused of building up an anti-government militia suggests they received and spent almost half a million dollars over a period of two and a half years, using much of it to buy weapons and military equipment.

There’s also a question of where the money came from, with the suggestion of third-party financial involvement.

In July, the RCMP arrested four Quebec men, all with military ties, for allegedly planning an ideologically motivated violent plot “intending to forcibly take possession of land in the Quebec City area.”

So the extremists were planning to become squatters or perhaps dead beat tenants. I see how this merited attention at the highest levels.

Why am I thinking it was RCMP “money” that financed these guys.

OTTAWA — A group of U.S. Republicans warned Prime Minister Mark Carney and allied nations on Friday that recognizing the Palestinian state may invite “punitive measures in response” for being “at odds” with longstanding U.S. foreign policy.

In an open letter, 25 Republican members of Congress and Senators called on Carney to “reconsider” his government’s decision. Carney formally recognized the Palestinian state on Sunday, ahead of his arrival in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

School accused of ‘brainwashing’ children after 14-year-olds told to read book ‘blaming them for their white skin’

A parent has accused a secondary school of ‘brainwashing’ after he learned 14-year-old students were told to read a book that ‘blames them for their white skin’.

James Farquharson claims students were being fed ‘partisan political views’ after the novel, The Hate U Give, was added to the Year 10 reading list at Budmouth Academy in Weymouth, Dorset.

The 53-year-old said the book was making some students feel guilty about being white and left his daughter ’embarrassed and uncomfortable’ after was told to read it out loud.

KLEIN: Disappointed in my country, Canada rewards terrorist Hamas

I am a disappointed Canadian today.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas slaughtered more than 1,200 people in Israel, including eight of our own citizens. Families were ripped apart, children were dragged into tunnels, and hostages are still being held. Instead of standing firmly against terror, our prime minister, Mark Carney, rewarded it. He chose to recognize a Palestinian state while Hamas continues to fire rockets, hold captives, and call for the destruction of Israel.

New permits for foreign students plunge 97 per cent as Conestoga College braces for impact

Conestoga’s pipeline of fee-paying foreign students has collapsed with a 97 per cent reduction in students from abroad receiving new approvals to attend.

That’s down from 17,600 new study permits approved in the same months in 2023.
