Why Trump speech scandal could be costly for the BBC

If Donald Trump’s recent tangles with the media are anything to go by, the US president will already be plotting his retaliation on the BBC for “doctored” footage of his Jan 6 speech.

The US president has famously become more aggressive towards what he calls the “fake news media” during his second term. Members of the press who have crossed him have been stripped of White House access or sued for millions of dollars.

Now, a report by one of the BBC’s own standards advisers has found a Panorama programme “completely misled” viewers by splicing together different sections of the speech Mr Trump gave before his supporters stormed the Capitol.

Cloned meat is quietly getting closer to being sold in Canada — but people may not know they’re buying it

Cloned meat could be coming to a grocery store near you. Whether you’re receptive to the technology or not, you may be none the wiser from looking at the package. Health Canada has made moves to lift restrictions on meat from cloned cattle and pigs, no longer considering it a “novel food,” meaning it could be commercialized without notification or labelling.

My would-be assassins’ sentencing is a verdict for liberty and a warning to dictators

A courtroom in lower Manhattan last week delivered more than a verdict — it delivered a message.

My Russian would-be assassins, sent by the Iranian regime, have been sentenced to prison. It was a beautiful day — a day of joy and freedom for me and my family.

I have always accepted the price of standing up to the mullahs, but moving from safe house to safe house 21 times hasn’t been easy.

Trump says it would be ‘hard for me’ to fund New York City if Mamdani becomes mayor

US President Donald Trump has said he would be reluctant to send federal funding to his hometown of New York if left-wing front-runner Zohran Mamdani is elected mayor of America’s biggest city this week.

“It’s gonna be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York, because if you have a Communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there,” Trump said in a television interview.

Poilievre Says Tories Willing to Work With Liberals on ‘Affordable’ Budget as Deadline Nears

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said days before the release of the federal budget that he’s willing to work with the Liberals to draft an “affordable” budget that his party could support.

“I’m willing to work all through the night—tonight and tomorrow—to come up with an affordable budget that will make an affordable life for Canadians. But we will not vote to raise grocery prices and increase housing costs as the Liberals have done over the last decade,” Poilievre told reporters during a Nov. 2 press conference in Ottawa.

Germany’s Migrant Crime Problem Is Out of Control

In a sane country, it would be unthinkable that the murder of a two-year-old boy would go effectively unpunished. And yet this is exactly what is happening in Germany. In January this year, a 28-year-old Afghan asylum seeker—Enamullah Omarzai—launched a brutal attack on a group of toddlers on a daycare outing, at a park in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. With a large kitchen knife, he began stabbing two of the children—a two-year-old Moroccan boy and a two-year-old Syrian girl. One of the female teachers, as well as two male passersby, attempted to intervene, allowing the remaining teacher and children to escape. In the struggle, one teacher had her hand broken, while the two men were stabbed. The little boy and a 41-year-old man both died from their injuries.

‘I don’t know what’ll happen’: Young Canadians anxiously await federal budget after Carney warns of ‘sacrifices’

OTTAWA — For many students across Canada, affordability is top of mind when it comes to the federal budget set to be tabled on Tuesday.

That includes Graham Baskin, a student at Carleton University. After Prime Minister Mark Carney told university students that Canadians should be ready for “challenges” and “sacrifices” in a speech last month outlining his priorities for the upcoming budget, Baskin said he is worried for his future.

Canada Post unveils new stamp in Kitchener honouring Sikh Canadian soldiers

A new Canada Post stamp paying tribute to Sikh Canadian soldiers was unveiled Sunday at the 18th annual Sikh Remembrance Day ceremony at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kitchener.

The stamp honors the service and contributions of Sikh soldiers in the Canadian military dating back to the First World War.

Sandeep Singh Brar, curator of Sikh Museum.com, says the stamp is more than just a tribute to the soldiers.

… During the First World War, only 10 Sikhs were permitted to serve in the Canadian army.

… “Thousands of Sikhs at the time tried to join, but they were turned away. They were told that ‘Sorry fellas, this is a white man’s war,'” Brar said.

We’re so racist we have to consider measures to deal with Visa fraud from India, not to mention Khalistani terrorists
