Can we fix Toronto’s homelessness crisis? This is what it could cost to build a home for every person living in our parks and streets

Patrick Couperthwait was hunkered down inside a makeshift shelter made of tarps, plywood and metal scraps, waiting for outreach workers to come back.

It was freezing cold this early December day, with temperatures dipping below -10 C the night before. His bare fingers were red and cracked, but Couperthwait couldn’t risk leaving to warm up indoors. He needed to stay here — on a roadside patch of grass near Riverdale Park where he’s camped for two years — because outreach workers told him yesterday there might be housing for him. As midday hit, Couperthwait was getting nervous.

The Islamo-Chow Regime does not want to solve the “Homeless crisis” as it raises money funneled to their socialist scams.

“Housing first” is a failed policy that assumes a hard core drug addict or the mentally ill will be able to maintain a residence.

Life doesn’t work that way. I am curious to see if Saskatchewan’s mandatory treatment policy is a success.

Secret dossier reveals police ‘covered up’ threat to Maccabi players

A police force has been accused of a cover-up after downplaying threats against Maccabi Tel Aviv football players from “Asian youths looking for a fight”.

A heavily redacted report from West Midlands Police obtained by The Telegraph reveals that Israeli football players were stalked by Birmingham locals in the days and hours before their Europa League away match against Aston Villa.

The Silver Command log lists sightings of “masked-up” groups of males, with “Asian youths looking to fight” and heading in the direction of the stadium.

Former Canadian politician emerges as key cheerleader for new Iranian revolution

Millions of Iranian citizens have taken to the streets since Dec. 28 in an unprecedented, widespread revolt against the Islamic Republic’s regime.

Watching events closely from Canada is Iranian-born Goldie Ghamari, who was just a year old when her family fled for Canada in 1986 – seven years after another revolution deposed the Shah of Iran and installed Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Iran protesters tell of brutal police response as regime lashes out

Demonstrators have continued to take to the streets of Iran, defying an escalating crackdown by authorities against the growing protest movement.

An internet shutdown imposed by the authorities on Thursday has largely cut the protesters off from the rest of the world, but videos that trickled out of the country showed thousands of people demonstrating in Tehran overnight into Saturday morning. They chanted: “Death to Khamenei,” in reference to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and: “Long live the shah.”

BURTON: Why people are leaving Canada — a country testing the limits of decline

Canadians are leaving — not in small numbers, not quietly, and not for trivial reasons. They are leaving because Canada is becoming economically uncompetitive, socially fractured, politically coercive, and increasingly intolerant of dissent. This is not a matter of pessimism or ideology; it is a rational response to a country that is steadily eroding the conditions that once made it attractive to live, work, raise a family, and invest.

For decades, Canada enjoyed a reputation as a stable, rules-based democracy with opportunity, fairness, and freedom at its core. That reputation is now under serious threat. People are voting with their feet, and the message they are sending is unmistakable: Canada is losing its way.

Should you need confirmation of the remarkable woman that Ayaan is, for her courage, clarity of thought, sheer knowledge and for the lucidity of her communication, this interview provides it.

Children of the Long March

The pattern is clear: foreign born, Neo-Marxist academics come to America, work at major universities, teach Neo-Marxist ideas to their students, and their children, inheriting their parents’ ideologies, enter politics.

Pattern recognition — the brain’s ability to perceive similarities and relationships between objects, numbers, and events — is used in IQ tests as a way to help measure cognitive intelligence.

Here’s a pattern to consider.

Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as mayor of New York City on the steps of an old, abandoned City Hall subway station early on New Year’s Day.

Venezuela attack shakes Canada’s economy far beyond oil – it’s a reckoning for the ages

Transmountain Pipeline Terminal

The U.S. raid on Venezuela has raised the threat level in Canada. The immediate concern has been whether it would dent Canadian oil exports, though the bigger worry is if the apparent success of the military operation in Venezuela makes this country next. Donald Trump has never backed away from his suggestion that Canada should become the 51st state, and the White House has laid hungry eyes on our mineral resources.

Banning X will not make anyone safer

On Wednesday, Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Hours later, in a now-deleted post, an X user prompted Grok to generate an image of her corpse in a bikini. Grok complied. Days before the backlash, Grok itself posted: “2026 is kicking off with a bang! Loving the bikini image requests—keeps things fun.”

Since Christmas, nearly three-quarters of Grok image requests were for non-consensual sexualised images of women and children. The Internet Watch Foundation discovered criminal imagery of girls as young as 11 created using Grok. Victims describe feeling violated and dehumanised.

Of Course the Western Left is Terrified By the Iranian Revolution

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the western media and western Left are not covering or supporting the Iranian protests for freedom. It is anathema for them to give a helping hand to such an ‘Islamophobic’ nightmare. What is transpiring in Iran is a dreadful nightmare for the Left – because it’s oxygen, blood-supply and identity are rooted in its alliance with communism, Islam and every other adversarial totalitarian monstrous genocidal death-cult.

I Once Believed Canadians Would Demand Better. Fifty Years On, I’m Not So Sure: Clement

OTTAWA — For most of my career, I believed that if Canadians truly understood the scale of criminal infiltration, foreign interference, and systemic mismanagement within our national institutions, they would demand better. I still believe that.

But after the past several years—marked by mounting revelations, official denials, and a troubling reluctance to confront hard truths—I have come to believe something else as well: silence is no longer an option.

Woman is handcuffed by police and fined £100 ‘for feeding pigeons’ in London

This is the moment a woman was placed in handcuffs by police and fined £100 for feeding some pigeons in London.

Video footage captured by a passerby showed a woman being detained by a group of officers and council enforcement workers in Harrow on Wednesday, in the latest example of jobsworth council officials slapping the public with petty fines.

A piece of paper later handed to the woman showed she had been stopped for being in breach of a Public Spaces Protection Order which covers town and district centres in Harrow.

Congrats to the videographer this is epic!

No surprise in a country that arrests people for praying silently.

Donald Trump’s deportation drive is making a mockery of America’s promise … said no normal person ever

Murdered by Illegal aliens in the USA

U.S. President Donald Trump’s racist, anti-immigrant policies are cruel – though sadly, no longer unusual – for a nation that once welcomed the “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” His administration is making the Emma Lazarus poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty reek with hypocrisy.

Mr. Trump’s zeal for mass deportation has subjected people to callous detention conditions, as U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE)’s dragnet captures thousands who aren’t the criminals he promised to expel. In many cases, they’re also not migrants or asylum seekers – and in some, including the killing by an ICE officer of Renee Nicole Macklin Good in a residential area in Minneapolis, the consequences of these raids have been deadly.

If you are in the country illegally you have committed a crime. Liberal indoctrination blinds its victims making them unable to think things through.

Trump administration suspends $129m in benefit payments to Minnesota

Minnesota leftists protest in favour of immigration fraud and illegal alien crime

The Trump administration announced it is suspending $129m in federal benefit payments to Minnesota amid allegations of widespread fraud in the state.

The secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Brooke Rollins, shared a letter on Friday on social media that was addressed to Minnesota’s governor, Tim Walz, and the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, notifying them of the administration’s decision and citing investigations into alleged fraud conducted by local non-profits and businesses.

“Despite a staggering, wide-reaching fraud scandal, your administrations refuse to provide basic information or take common sense measures to stop fraud. The Trump administration refuses to allow such fraud to continue,” Rollins wrote.

WAGNER: Canada’s fatal turn — the federal election of 1980

Pierre Trudeau alleged father of Canada’s worst Prime Minister

Canada faced a fork in the road in the 1980 federal election: stick with the centrist Progressive Conservative government of Joe Clark, or turn hard left with the Pierre Trudeau Liberals. Canada — or more accurately, Eastern Canada — chose Trudeau.

The die was cast, and Canada would never be the same. In his final four years in office, Trudeau would fundamentally transform Canada, and not in a good way. It’s like the country fell off a cliff, politically speaking.
