One of Canada’s largest private English language schools has shut down after filing for bankruptcy on Friday.
In a message posted on its website, the International Language Academy of Canada cited increased financial challenges over the past three years “due to significant regulatory changes affecting the sector.”

Exit polls for the state elections, in Berlin and in the eastern state of Mecklenburg Vorpommern, both showed the CDU trailing far behind the hard-Right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

President Donald Trump on Sunday said his proposed 250-foot triumphal arch will now be a “top grade” military complex that will house drones, snipers and ammunition.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he has agreed to convert the arch “at the strong request” of the U.S. military, and “for National Security purposes.”
The “Military Complex/Triumphal Arch” near Arlington National Cemetery will “house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage,” Trump wrote. “There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World.”

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, or SEPTA, had fought a losing battle with its fleet of 25 Proterra Catalyst buses. Cracks kept showing up in the bodies of the buses, including to the chassis, and they seemed to defy any patching done by SEPTA’s engineers.
Japan’s foreign ministry has come under fire after costumes used to depict terrorists in an anti-terror drill were criticised as stereotypical depictions of a Middle Eastern or Muslim “terrorist”.
The ministry shared pictures of the 10 September drill showing people playing terrorists wearing a headscarf resembling a traditional Arab keffiyeh, a headdress featuring a distinctive woven pattern.
One picture showed a person playing a terrorist wearing the scarf-like cloth as he placed a bag over a hostage’s head. The images drew criticism online, with some users saying the resemblance to a keffiyeh was hard to miss and accusing the ministry of reinforcing stereotypes linking Arabs or Muslims with terrorism.

Ukraine has targeted Moscow and the surrounding region in a large-scale attack that involved hundreds of drones.
The attack killed at least three people and damaged what Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said was one of Russia’s “key oil industry facilities” on the final day of the country’s parliamentary elections, authorities said on Sunday.
Zelenskyy said that among the weapons used in the attack was the Pelican, initially thought to be a short-range ballistic missile, but which sources said later was a winged drone.
