An OPP officer struck and killed a pedestrian. Shortly after that, she was promoted.

An Ontario mom is speaking out two years after an OPP officer driving the speeding vehicle that struck and killed her 25-year-old son was promoted shortly after the collision.

Coreena Jones says it doesn’t make sense why that officer would go from being a detective constable to detective sergeant in the wake of her son Noah Landriault’s death. The promotion comes with a pay raise that appears to be higher than the penalty imposed in Ontario’s police misconduct system.
