Diary entries released by a Republican senator in an attempt to damage Anthony Fauci also show the former top US government science adviser’s growing disillusionment with Donald Trump in the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, branding the president “rambling”, “crazy”, “desperate”, “bumbling”, “incompetent”, “an idiot”, “a true embarrassment”, “totally nuts” and “truly an obnoxious adolescent”.
‘Disappointed’ Doug Ford spoke privately with Mark Carney after decision blocking Billy Bishop expansion
Premier Doug Ford told Prime Minister Mark Carney how “disappointed” he was that Ottawa is abandoning the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport expansion to allow commuter jets, the Star has learned.
Carney cancelled the island airport scheme before it could cause his Liberals any political turbulence, including potentially in the Aug. 31 Beaches—East York byelection that the prime minister called Sunday.
Anti-Americanism is a poison that is still dangerously warping the Left
Our dog is nearly 14 years old. Much as he still enjoys life, it is hard to teach him new tricks. But he is only a dog.
The Left has no such excuse. It has always looked down on the Conservatives as the “stupid party”. Yet it is the Left – which loves to pose as the vanguard of a new society – that keeps falling for the same old snares and delusions.
Canada ‘not an option’ for thousands of Haitians and Syrians who could lose immigration status in U.S.: lawyer
With more than 350,000 Haitians and Syrians set to lose their protected immigration status in the U.S. today, will Canada see another influx of asylum seekers at the border?
“In the past, a lot of people came to Canada when they were losing their status in the United States and Canada saw a pretty significant surge at the border, and especially at irregular border crossings,” Toronto-based immigration lawyer Joel Sandaluk told CTV’s Your Morning on Monday.
“That can’t happen anymore.”
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Dutch Asylum Row Escalates After Explosion and Vandalism
Homes belonging to supporters of a planned asylum centre have been vandalised in the Dutch villages of Engelen and Bokhoven, marking the latest escalation in a dispute that has already involved demonstrations, a motorway blockade and an explosion.
Police said homes, fences and other properties had been spray-painted with slogans including “AMV nee” and “POA,” as well as crude insults. AMV is the Dutch abbreviation for unaccompanied minor foreign nationals, while POA refers to a reception facility used during the asylum process.

Somali Man Who Filmed Shiloh Hendrix Had Rape Charges Dropped ‘In Interest Of Justice’
Sharmake Beyle Omar, the Somali man behind the viral video that sent Shiloh Hendrix to court, had charges of raping a 16-year-old girl dismissed by the Olmsted County District Court — the same district court that just ruled against Hendrix.
District court judge Christa Daily ordered Hendrix to pay a fine and place her on strict probation, despite letting off convicted sex offenders with no jail time.
Baffled by AfD
On Saturday evening, a 21-year-old identified by authorities as Abdul Ballout and described as a known member of “Islamist circles” in Berlin, plowed a van into a crowd at that city’s Pride event in the Tiergarten, killing one woman and injuring 29 people. After fleeing the scene, the perpetrator was on the loose for several hours before being shot to death on Sunday in the capital’s Spandau district by police whom he had lunged at with a knife.
Geoffrey Moyse: Haida land deal enabled by legal subterfuge
In a recent op-ed in the National Post, Josh Dehaas of the Canadian Constitution Foundation wrote: “Last September, many Canadians were shocked to learn through a Haida Nation news release that British Columbia and Canada had gone behind closed doors in judges’ chambers and signed an agreement that recognized Aboriginal title over all of Haida Gwaii. Without having to prove their title in court, the Haida gained constitutionally protected rights over the entire archipelago.”
Corporate Journalists Have Earned Our Mockery
n Friday, President Trump attended the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner after an uninvited gunman brought the original April gala to a premature conclusion. Even though the would-be assassin had left a confession explaining his intention to murder the president and as many members of his administration as possible, the assembled “journalists” spent the next few days pretending that they were the intended targets. In breathless interviews with obsequious colleagues, the “heroic journalists” in attendance told dwindling viewers what it was like to have been so near death. Suffice it to say, combat veterans and beat cops found it difficult not to roll their eyes at the pampered prima donnas who playact at being reporters while obsessing about their hair and makeup.
GB News didn’t cause the Berlin terror attack
There are many questions to be asked after Saturday night’s terror attack at a Pride event in Berlin. One thing that does seem pretty clear is the cause. Everything we know about the culprit, 21-year-old Abdul Ballout, points to the fact that his crimes were motivated by his Islamist beliefs.
What Trump’s tinkering around with water at the Canadian border could be about
WASHINGTON, D.C. — While Canadians have been focused on Donald Trump’s hounding them about becoming the “51st state” and squeezing their cross-border trade, the U.S. president has been quietly fiddling around with the rules for waters along the Canada-U.S. border.
In late April, the president signed House Joint Resolution 140 into law, rolling back a Biden-era mining moratorium on more than 200,000 acres of U.S. federal lands near the Boundary Waters watershed in Minnesota that drains into Canadian waters.
