Why did Britain give a Hamas chief’s bodyguard a passport?

Why did Britain give a Hamas chief’s bodyguard a passport?

The failure of the British state is long-term and corrosive. It emerged this weekend that Mr. X, a former bodyguard of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, was allowed to settle in the UK and given British citizenship – before going on to allegedly coordinate a Hamas terror plot in Germany. He also faces separate terror charges in this country.

The case of Mr. X was quickly followed by the news yesterday that Britain’s Home Secretary plans to launch a new resettlement scheme which prioritizes Afghan women and girls, and Palestinians of both sexes.

U.S. bans on Canadian booze hit producers on one of trade war’s thorniest fronts

U.S. bans on Canadian booze hit producers on one of trade war’s thorniest fronts

Distiller James Lester has grown used to the on-again, off-again chaos of the trade war, but he’s now grappling with a new kind of treatment — being shut out of the U.S. market altogether.

“It’s a little sad, to be honest,” said Lester, founder and operator of B.C.-based distillery Sons of Vancouver.

As of Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. ET, U.S. bans are in effect on some Canadian alcohol products, dairy byproducts, motorcycles and molasses, shutting certain producers out of the U.S. market entirely.

Selling F-35s to Saudi Arabia: A Gift to China?

Selling F-35s to Saudi Arabia: A Gift to China?

US President Donald Trump’s decision to sell state-of-the-art F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia seriously risks undermining his efforts to secure America’s technological advantage over China, both in national security and the battle for global AI supremacy.

Trump initially agreed to sell the Saudis 48 F-35s in a deal worth an estimated $24.3 billion when he hosted Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House in November 2025.

Canada should bolster its sovereignty over our freshwater

Canada should bolster its sovereignty over our freshwater

I have spent decades working in both the field and in halls of power alike, trying to get decision-makers to take Canada’s water security and the health of the Great Lakes seriously.

So, imagine my surprise when the name of one of them grabbed headlines around the world, for the most bizarre of reasons.

Regardless of where you may stand on how we refer to the smallest of the five Laurentian Great Lakes, one thing about which we should all agree is that recent events should stoke a real, adult conversation about where our two neighbouring countries stand on co-managing them.

This will make a great announcement for Carney “Battleships On The Laurentian Lakes!”

Drunk Brothers Call DoorDash During Six-Hour Standoff With Police

In the middle of a nearly six-hour standoff with Gillette police, a pair of drunk and uncooperative brothers apparently got a little hungry, surprising law enforcement outside their Limecreek Avenue home when DoorDash showed up.

About an hour into trying to get the brothers out of the home early Thursday morning, “a DoorDash delivery driver arrived to drop off food at the home,” wrote Gillette Police Officer Eric Small in an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case that was made available Monday.

Kitten Rescue Group Doubles Down on Dehumanizing Conservatives After PETA Rebuke

Imagine being so far left even PETA berates you. That’s what happened to a New York City based kitten rescue group recently after they went viral for announcing a new policy that excludes conservatives, “MAGA,” and even those who are apolitical, from adopting cats from their rescue group. PETA, in turn, publicly stated the policy should be “ reconsidered and abolished.” However, the group’s owner has since doubled down on her hateful stance in another angry rant Sunday evening, warning, “Babes, this isn’t going to end the way you want it to with me.”

TD executive sues after being fired for adding Christian symbol to her email signature

A Christian addition to her TD Insurance email signature has cost a senior manager her $210,000-per-year job.

In a statement of claim filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, Sonja Denobrega seeks more than $400,000 in damages from TD, alleging she was wrongfully dismissed after tagging “I am HIS ✝️” on to the end of her email signature in a stand against a company policy that she says “only allowed for gender/sex identification and allowed no room for other identities.”

Trump’s Tariffs Push Canadian Companies to Look Past American Links

Trump’s Tariffs Push Canadian Companies to Look Past American Links

Before President Trump returned to office, unleashing a trade war featuring special animus toward Canada, Michael Goldstein saw his Vancouver start-up as complementary to American interests.

His company, Accelovant, makes temperature sensors used to produce computer chips — the brains of modern manufacturing. Canada and the United States shared an interest in limiting their dependence on chip factories in Asia. He was supplying critical components, many of which were being made in the United States.

Canadian youth just keep getting more conservative under Carney

Canadian youth just keep getting more conservative under Carney

Youth are now the single most Conservative demographic in Canada and an election decided exclusively by voters under 30 would be an easy Tory victory, according to figures released by Abacus Data.

The poll is yet more evidence of a uniquely Canadian phenomenon of young people becoming increasingly right-wing while the reverse happens among their elders.
