The questions about the assimilation of Muslim communities in this country are becoming more, not less, controversial over time. Some people insist that Muslims are blending much better into our communities than in the past; other people feel certain that there will always be a division between our mainstream culture and the many cultures of Islam.
Who is to be believed, and how critical are the conclusions we draw?
As the 25th anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attacks of September 11 approach, video of George W. Bush claiming tremulously that Islam is a religion of peace is once again making the rounds on social media.
This week we observe the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country by a terrorist organization that few people, outside the FBI and CIA, knew of at that time.
Now we’re learning what other plans Osama bin Laden, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Ayman al-Zawahiri and their Al Qaeda adherents had in mind for the even bigger follow up attack.

A nonpartisan entity charged with reviewing misconduct allegations has cleared Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) of wrongdoing in connection with documents she submitted to Congress that dramatically overstated her wealth.
The Office of Congressional Conduct, which reviews allegations concerning House members and staff, made the determination after opening an investigation into Omar earlier this year. The findings, marked confidential, were viewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Suliaman Tajzai, 18, travelled from Leeds to London to allegedly murder 26-year-old Farmanullah Sherzad on March 27 this year.

Over the years, CAIR has managed to offend, insult, and upset Americans as they supposedly try to protect the rights of Muslims in this country. They’ve managed to do it again, as they published a “Back to School Resource Guide” for grade schoolers, and they managed to make an “editing error” that has raised the hackles of concerned Americans. Exploring the murky depths of my laptop this last week, I came upon a provocative pamphlet from about a decade ago, perhaps.
It’s provocative in a very good sense. The author, Dr. Tawfik Hamid, wrote passionately about the topic at hand, a passion that was palpable. Hamid is an Egyptian MD who identifies himself as a moderate Muslim. In the pamphlet, he was making the case that we must see what people mean when they invoke the name of Islam. Hamid found the need to do that, having joined an Egyptian jihadist group in the Eighties, which he then left as the result of the moral awakening that led him to be a Muslim reformer.

A Muslim man shot and killed a pro-Palestinian photographer and his friend as they were leaving an Arizona gay bar before turning the gun on himself in what cops say was a hate crime.
Ousman Ceesay unleashed the violence in Tucson around 12:30 a.m. Monday — targeting two men he did not know, Tucson Police confirmed.
Cameron Davis Capara, 33, and Vincent Anthony Siqueiros, 42, were in the parking lot of Venture-N when they were confronted and then shot by Ceesay, according to cops.
