In just one week, the Washington Post churned out two op-eds on the same theme, “The GOP is Now Just the Party of White Grievance” and “The Republican Party is Making Jim Crow Segregationists Proud”. The D.C. Democrat paper doesn’t bother clarifying why Democrats from two generations ago would be thrilled that 1 in 5 black men voted for President Trump.
Ever since the election, the media has been beating its narrative drum with one message.
A law professor at Georgetown Law School, Sandra Sellers, has been fired because she is racist. She revealed her racism in a Zoom conversation with her colleague David Batson who nodded along to what she said. Batson is now on leave.
Racism is everywhere, it’s our job to stamp it out, and Sellers’ racism was smoked out. She’s out. Social justice has been done.

When it comes to equality, for the political left, it’s just a talking point, and basically, that’s it. According to recent studies, when it comes to how people are treated, conservatives are more likely to treat people equally.
When it comes to who can play what in movies and on TV, producers have been quick to apply a double standard.
It is deemed progressive and interesting for black and brown actors to play white characters but inappropriate and offensive the other way round. Colorblind casting only applies to people of color, which somewhat defies the point.
Springfield, Massachusetts is one of the toughest cities in the United States, but it was not always that way. Basketball was invented in a gym in Springfield in 1891. The first gasoline-powered engine was built there, as were Indian Motorcycles.
As manufacturing died, so did Springfield, which devolved into a sadly familiar kind of American landscape — drugs, violence, waves of impoverished immigrants. On Wednesday, a man was shot to death on Main Street.
When immigrant groups are successful, the woke lobby will say they have ‘white’ traits.
So, the woke folk finally figured out how to handle the success of those pesky Asians – just re-label them as white!
In my most recent piece for spiked, I pointed out a very significant problem for those arguing that constant and systemic – rather than sporadic and individual – racism is prevalent throughout modern US society: most of the most highly successful groups in the US are not white. Seven of the top 10 highest-earning American population groups – Indian, Taiwanese, Filipino, Indonesian, Pakistani, Iranian / Persian, and Arab Lebanese Americans – are not of European extraction, and another top 10 group (South Africans) is made up of both blacks and whites.
Today’s obsession with ‘whiteness’ ignores the complexities of race
It’s only recently that I came across the idea of “Schrödinger’s whites”. This is the notion that Jews are considered to be white or non-white depending on the political perspective of the viewer. To those on the murkier reaches of the far-Right, Jews are not white; indeed their non-whiteness is considered a threat to the purity of whiteness. But to those on the progressive Left, Jews are often considered archetypally white — powerful, privileged, wealthy. Whether you see a Jewish person as white or BAME has more to do with you than it does with them. It’s a matter of perspective.

Governors of boarding schools are supposed to be custodians, not political activists
As an alumnus of Rugby School, I sometimes take a look at its website to receive updates and news. The kind of thing that piques my interest is seeing which members of staff have left or retired, or reading a news update about plans to construct a new facility.
Yet on my most recent visit I was dismayed to see a “Statement from the Board on Black Lives Matter” emblazoned on the front page. After expressing their “deep sadness” over the death of George Floyd, the Governors wax lyrical about widespread racial injustice before promising to launch a “significant research project into the relationship between our own institutional history and race, including re-assessing the role of [Old Rugbeans] in Britain’s complex history.”
A white male civil servant is suing the Government for race discrimination after learning a black female colleague was paid almost £52,000 more to do the same job.
Matthew Parr was appointed as one of only five HM Inspectors of Constabulary in 2016 on a £133,893 per year salary.
But he has since launched a sex and race discrimination case after he discovered that fellow inspector Wendy Williams, who is black, was hired on £185,791 just 15 months before.
Characterizing people by skin color or sexual practice violates core principles of a free society and worsens human divisions.
Every citizen fatality in the custody of a government official—like George Floyd’s excruciating death in Minneapolis—deserves a solemn response and ultimate accounting, including both criminal investigation and broader assessment. The fear and fury flowing from recent law-enforcement casualties, however, have been inflamed and manipulated by opportunists to produce something much more sweeping.
