Now that we’ve reached the point where Facebook and Twitter aren’t automatically suspending the accounts of anyone who even suggests the possibility that the novel coronavirus might have originated in a laboratory in Wuhan rather than a bat cave, the mainstream media is also reluctantly talking about it.
Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) touted his state’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
DeSantis advised that had Florida not pushed back against lockdowns, and other states followed suit, the United States would look more like Canada right now, which he said would still be locked down.
Ontario reports 210 new COVID-19 cases, 3 more deaths
Ontario’s daily COVID-19 case count has once again hit a more than nine-month low with just over 200 new infections confirmed today.
Provincial health officials logged 210 new cases today, down from 287 on Sunday and 346 on Saturday.

Almost 30 per cent of respondents in a newly released Canada-wide survey admitted to breaking COVID-19 rules — and felt justified doing so.
The survey by the Canadian Hub for Applied and Social Research at the University of Saskatchewan was done between June 1 and June 14. It asked 1,000 people about how closely they stuck to public health orders and where they were getting their information about the pandemic.
Some 29 per cent said they broke at least one COVID-19 restriction. The most common transgressions were around gathering limits and wearing masks.
I suspect the number is much higher.

Ontario reports 287 new COVID-19 cases; majority are now Delta variant
Ontario reported 287 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, along with 12 new deaths, as the province’s burden of known active cases hit its lowest point since last September.
Ontario reported 346 new cases on Saturday and 256 on Friday.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases now stands at 286, down slightly from 291 yesterday.
U.K. records highest daily COVID-19 cases in months amid Delta Indian variant surge
The U.K. on Saturday recorded its most new coronavirus infections since early February as the National Health Service ran a “grab a jab” initiative to further drive up vaccination rates.
Government figures showed that another 18,270 people tested positive for the virus across the U.K, the highest daily number since February 5. Over the past week, nearly 100,000 have tested positive, around 50% increase up on the week before. That has raised questions over whether lockdown restrictions will end as planned.
So… I got my 2nd shot yesterday at the local mass jab joint.
Had I known better I would have ignored my scheduled appointment and showed up much earlier as they were letting anyone in who showed up.
They only had Moderna on offer. So far so good, I ‘ve experienced none of the expected reactions I had with the Pfizer jab. Not feverish or achy etc.
And my heart hasn’t exploded.
Not yet at any rate. I’m told that’s a good sign.

Air Canada will soon begin testing a new feature through its mobile app that will allow travelers to digitally manage their COVID-19 test results.
In a press release, the company says its app will allow users to “safely scan, upload and verify” COVID-19 test results so they can more conveniently validate compliance with government health regulations.
We recently returned to the lovely little city of Peterborough, Ont., where the local constabulary take a very dim view of any sort of merriment in this day and age of COVID-19. You might recall our previous trip to Peterborough in April. We were there to cover an anti-lockdown protest staged at Confederation Square.
We don’t know if COVID-19 escaped from a lab or not. The Chinese government apparently wants to keep it that way.
This week, lawmakers in the United States called for an investigation into whether the October 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan, China was a COVID-19 super-spreader event and whether officials should have known something was amiss, given that the city seemed unusually empty and was described by some participants as a “ghost town.”
