Hegseth slams NATO and ‘middle powers’ talk, launches Europe troop review

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday lashed out at NATO allies during the announcement of a six-month Pentagon review of U.S. forces in Europe, saying the future of the alliance depended on others stepping up their defence spending.

He also appeared to take a veiled dig at recent remarks made by Prime Minister Mark Carney about middle powers needing to band together.

Europe like Canada will have to contend with a huge 5th Column and traitor class capable of upending any effort at self defense.

When you invite the enemy to overrun your country expect negative consequences Canada.

Canada is not capable of defending its borders and there will no Band of Middle Powers riding to the rescue.

Lebanese man who lost refugee status for returning to his homeland five times gets shot at staying in Canada

An 81-year-old Lebanese man with dementia who obtained refugee status in Canada “on the basis of threats from terrorist organizations” in his homeland, then lost it for returning to Lebanon five times to visit his sick and dying siblings and to attend their funerals, has won another shot at staying in this country.

Ezzat Fahs, who holds Lebanese citizenship, obtained refugee protection in Canada about 14 years ago, according to a recent Federal Court decision regarding his case.

Immigration Minister Lena Diab says people seeking Canadian citizenship by descent must prove their connection to Canada through each generation and that genealogy websites alone are not sufficient evidence.

Diab made the comments June 16 during Question Period in the House of Commons, when asked how many individuals had been given Canadian citizenship using inaccurate documents under a law passed last year that lets some people born before Dec. 15, 2025, obtain Canadian citizenship by descent if they can document a chain of descent to a Canadian citizen.

Mona Nemer questioned over $400Gs in taxpayer-funded travel since 2017

Canada used to be a bilingual country, in that our institutions could accommodate speakers of either official language. That age came to a resounding close on Friday, when a majority of the Supreme Court banned the appointment of unilingual speakers to a bilingual government office.

The case before the court had been brought by an Acadian activist group that challenged the appointment of a non-French-speaker, Brenda Murphy, to the position of lieutenant governor of New Brunswick. Six of the Supreme Court’s nine judges agreed with the Acadians, concluding that the lieutenant governor must speak both English and French. Appointing an anglophone, they said, constituted a violation of the Charter, in particular the equality rights of francophones.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says he had several informal discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump during the G7 summit in France, despite not having an official meeting.

Carney told reporters during the final day of the summit Wednesday that the president only had scheduled bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While Macron is the only G7 leader Trump has met with at the G7 so far, he has held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Homeownership increased for recent immigrants in Canada and decreased for Canadian-born individuals: StatsCan

Homeownership rates for recent immigrants in Canada grew recently, but it also decreased for Canadian-born individuals, according to a Statistics Canada study released Tuesday.

Homeownership in Ontario among recent immigrants in their fifth year in Canada rose by from 35.7 per cent in 2018 to 40.2 per cent in 2021, recording an increase of over 12 per cent. While Canadian-born individuals saw a five per cent decrease in homeownership rates for the same period from 50.7 per cent to 47.8 per cent.

I guess the Elbow people who voted for economic security wrecking mass immigration all have homes set aside for their children and grandchildren.
