An illegal immigrant raped a woman on a night out after being freed from prison for a previous sex attack.
Radiet Meles, 35, an ex-soldier from Eritrea, was expected to be deported after finishing his sentence for a horrific sexual assault in 2019.
However he was allowed to stay in Britain after serving a five-year sentence for the attempted rape of an unconscious woman at a house party in Newport, South Wales.

Women in the village of Piddington have demanded answers from female MPs in an open letter, amid fears of being outnumbered ten to one by asylum seekers.
Labour is said to have drawn up plans to house up to 3,500 single male asylum seekers at a former military site near the Oxfordshire village, which is home to just 350.
Early reports suggested the Home Office had deemed a former Ministry of Defence site near Piddington and Upper Arncott could house around 1,250 migrants.

Among the things a police career taught me is that a small number—usually single digits—of felons commit most felonies. They’ll draw in other criminals, involve them in their crimes, and when convenient, abandon them to arrest. There is no honor among thieves. And the number of the most prolific felons increases and decreases slightly from place to place, and in relation to the specific type of crime.
In some places, crooks specialize in home or business burglaries. In others, specialization might involve burglarizing vehicles or carjacking.
At a packed village hall meeting in picturesque Piddington, parish council leader Tim McNally railed against the British state. “The Government has stacked all of the odds against us,” he said: “They won’t let us see content. They made that content illegal. They won’t let us oppose them. That’s the thing where pain can be felt and the embarrassment is felt.” Tiny Piddington is “the seed, it’s the soil, it’s the fertilizer” for a “Battle of Britain”, he told the audience, before asking them if they still wanted to proceed with their referendum on seceding from the United Kingdom. They did, and they cheered and clapped as they said so. If the delivery was polite and matter of fact, the rhetoric was revolutionary.
Police have arrested three men, including one for wearing a face covering, after the gathering of hundreds of anti-migrant protestors in Portsmouth on Saturday ended in violence.
After a march through the city, skirmishes took place as around 400 protesters and activists from a rival demonstration organised by Stand Up To Racism left Guildhall Square.
Though originally claimed to be a peaceful protest, anti-migrant protesters were filmed shouting ‘scum’ before scuffles broke out as officers sought to prevent them breaking through police lines.

According to compilations from the SSMSI data files, foreigners accounted in 2025 for 87 percent of simple thefts on Île-de-France public transport, 60 percent of robberies, and 38 percent of physical assault.

The most serious urban riots in a generation were kicked off by the death of a mixed-race man called Mark Duggan on August 4 in Tottenham, north London. Armed police intercepted the car Duggan was traveling in and shot him. The officers said they believed he had been carrying a gun, and a converted pistol was found at the scene; tight gun laws in the UK mean criminals often convert deactivated pistols and starter guns into live weapons. Initial reports claimed there was an exchange of gunfire, but the story quickly changed. Duggan wasn’t holding the gun at the time he was killed. It took until 2014, and a full judicial inquest, to establish that Duggan had indeed been lawfully killed.

Non-German suspects account for nearly half of all violent crime in the German state of Bavaria, with the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party now calling for remigration for all criminal migrant suspects.
Ceuta, population 83,000, suffered what is being described as its worst night of vandalism last night since some 70,000 migrants poured across the Moroccan border at the end of July. Vehicles and rubbish containers were set alight in several districts, fires were started among belongings in migrant encampments and police intervened in several fights between migrants.

I claim no particular gift of prophecy, but it’s almost exactly a year since I wrote in this column about John, the lovely man who comes to help me with all the jobs I can’t manage in the garden. With more than 1,200 illegal migrants billeted in a former military base in our county and bussed regularly into nearby towns, John was worried about the safety of his teenage daughter. Like a lot of fathers, he despaired of the failure of successive governments to stop the boats.
