She apparently responded unpleasantly that, among other things, ”You in your whiteness think that you can tell me what’s really going on for Black people.” In a second session, she allegedly held Bilkszto’s comments up as a real-life example of being a white supremacist.

Mayor Olivia Chow is standing by a plan to rename Dundas Street, even as one councillor who voted in favour of the project claims there’s no money for it.
Chow’s office confirmed last week she supports council’s 2021 decision to find a new designation for the major thoroughfare, which was named after an 18th-century Scottish politician who some historians blame for delaying the abolition of the slave trade.
Critics counter there’s no clear evidence Henry Dundas was responsible for prolonging the slave trade, and that the resources required to remove his name from the 23-kilometre street would be better spent on other priorities. The city’s most recent estimate for the project is $8.6 million.

Keynote speaker Sonalee Rashatwar, widely known as The Fat Sex Therapist, is also known for chalking up fatphobia and fat-shaming to white supremacist beauty ideals, calling it the “social construct” of health, “fat trauma” and the intersection of fat and gender.
Ontario launches review of TDSB handling of allegations from principal who later died by suicide
Ontario’s Education Minister says his office will review the circumstances that led to the recent death of a principal who had filed a lawsuit against the Toronto District School Board for failing to protect him after a confrontation during a diversity training session.
Stephen Lecce said in a statement on Monday evening that he asked his staff to review what happened “and bring me options to reform professional training and strengthen accountability on school boards so this never happens again.”

An Ontario principals’ group says it is concerned about the safety of staff from bullying and harassment following the recent death of an administrator who had filed a lawsuit against the Toronto District School Board for failing to protect him after a confrontation during a diversity training session.
Richard Bilkszto retired as a principal from the school board in 2019 after more than two decades, but continued to work on a contract basis. His lawyer, Lisa Bildy, said he died by suicide earlier this month.

White pupils have been excluded from extra weekend literacy classes at schools in North London, The Telegraph can reveal.
Parents at a primary school in Haringey have been told that schools will fund Saturday school places for children from black and black heritage families to “accelerate progress in reading and writing whilst also developing the children’s knowledge of black history and culture”.
However, no comparable offer was made for white pupils despite parents arguing that evidence shows white working-class boys have fallen behind their peers.

German Prosecutor: Antifa’s ‘Hammer Gang’ Leader Needs More Prison Time
On May 31st, Lina Engel, the leader of the violent far-left extremist Antifa group known as the Hammerbande or ‘Hammer Gang’ was found guilty by the Dresden Higher Regional Court alongside three other members of the gang for violent assaults on real or alleged neo-Nazis and sentenced to five years and three months in prison.
However, the Federal Public Prosecutor General of Germany based in Karlsruhe has now appealed the sentence, demanding that Engel face at least eight years in prison for her activities, according to a report from the German tabloid Bild.

Germany: Police break up banned far-left Antifa protest in Leipzig
Left-wing protesters wanted to gather to protest a jail term given to a woman for attacking neo-Nazis. Despite court bans, police first tried to accommodate the protest, but broke it up when officers came under attack.
Several police officers were injured in the eastern German city of Leipzig on Saturday in clashes with left-wing protesters.
Leipzig police spokesman Olaf Hoppe described the situation as “very dynamic,” with “sometimes massive clashes here in the south of Leipzig.”
He said that “roughly 1,500 people” turned up to the demonstration, even though several courts had refused to authorize it.
