China Uses ‘Whole-of-Society’ Effort to Steal From the US: Former CIA Officer

China is using a whole-of-society approach to steal its way to become a military power, and the U.S. government needs to better defend against such an espionage campaign, said a retired CIA officer.

“U.S. security officials estimate that the Chinese steal between $300 billion and $600 billion a year in U.S. intellectual property, research and development, information and technology,” David Sauer told The Epoch Times’ sister media NTD in an interview on Oct 29.

The United States has not been the only target. Sauer said China’s espionage campaign has also targeted the European Union, South Korea, and Japan, and the campaign began around 2000 to 2001.

Prince Andrew’s lawyers expose ‘sex kitten past’ of his accuser

The Duke of York’s accuser has had her “lurid” sexual abuse claims challenged for the first time, a source close to him said on Saturday, as his lawyers accused her of trying to secure “another payday at his expense” with her lawsuit.

In a furious rebuttal of the “threadbare” complaint made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the Duke’s legal team suggested she was motivated solely by greed and had been emboldened to “cobble together” a claim against him after making millions of dollars from others in similar circumstances.

They said she had profited from her association with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender, for years and was willing to “milk the publicity” for all she could but had failed to keep her stories straight.

COVID ‘more likely lab leak than weapon,’ U.S. spies find

Coronavirus was not designed as a biological weapon but could have leaked from a Chinese lab, according to a declassified report from US intelligence.

The Office of the US Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said the lab leak or animal-to-human transmission were both plausible explanations for how coronavirus first infected humans.

DISTROSCALE
The report, which China branded a “farce”, said agencies may never be able to identify the source of the pandemic but dismissed accusations that coronavirus was developed as a bioweapon.

O’Toole should show ‘leadership’ and show unvaccinated Conservative MPs the door: Former PM Mulroney

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole should show leadership on mandatory vaccinations and show any of his unvaccinated MPs the door, says former prime minister and Conservative leader Brian Mulroney.

Mulroney said that if he was the leader today, he would require all of his MPs to roll up their sleeves and receive the COVID-19 vaccine, calling it a “no-brainer.”

Knives are out it seems. O’Toole is just fine as leader of the newly scrubbed notreallyconservative party.  They should leave him in place. Attempting to pretend the CPC are “born again conservatives” by ousting O’Toole just won’t play any longer.

Ontario reports 340 new COVID-19 cases; 2 additional deaths

Ontario reported 340 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths on Sunday, as the province approaches confirming its 600,000th case of novel coronavirus infection.

Ontario reported 356 cases on Saturday and 419 on Friday.

Debate grows over mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for children

With the first COVID-19 vaccine for children under 12 expected to be authorized in Canada soon, there is growing debate among health officials and experts over whether kids should be subject to mandatory vaccination policies, and whether they should be able to claim non-medical exemptions.

There is clear consensus in the medical community that any COVID-19 vaccine approved for children under 12 in Canada would be safe and effective, but some officials have advocated for delaying making inoculation a condition of going to school.

Alec Baldwin makes first public comments on ‘one in a trillion’ shooting

Alec Baldwin has spoken out in public for the first time since he accidentally shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a film set earlier this month, saying “she was my friend”.

Speaking to reporters, the actor said he would be in favour of limiting the future use of firearms on film productions to protect peoples’ safety.

He said the police had ordered him not to discuss the ongoing investigation.

Prosecutors say they have not ruled out filing criminal charges over the case.

Americans turn against Black Lives Matter A majority of adults now oppose the movement

For the first time since 2018, more Americans now oppose the Black Lives Matter movement than support it.

Researchers Civiqs have been tracking public opinion on the activist group every week since 2017, interviewing a total of 278,076 adults across the country. For most of that period BLM has enjoyed majority support. It reached peak popularity (53% support, 28% against) immediately after the killing of George Floyd in June 2020, but has been drifting downwards ever since. Crossover was reached this week, with 44% of the American public opposed to BLM, and 43% in favour.

The deadly word games that brought us ‘Gain of Function’

Washington, D.C. is the biggest home of lies and word games in the known cosmos.

In D.C., a seven-trillion-dollar punch in your wallet costs you absolutely nothing, according to the president of the United States himself.

In Washington, D.C. a fat, aging hippie man becomes the first “female” four-star admiral of the United States, and nobody is allowed to laugh.

Why the elites are so desperate to avoid discussing radical Islam.

David Amess and the terrorism amnesia industry

The killing of Sir David Amess is starting to slip from public consciousness. You can feel it. Just two weeks after the Conservative MP for Southend West was allegedly murdered in a suspected Islamist terror attack, it seems like this horror is fading from national memory. Yes, numerous tributes were paid. The media coverage was extensive. Parliament garlanded Amess with touching tributes. And, in his memory, Southend will be granted city status, something he campaigned for throughout his political career. So there has not been nothing. Of course not. And yet it seems undeniable now that this atrocity is not being accorded the political and historic moment it surely deserves.

The Party’s Over in San Francisco

Key prosecutors are leaving District Attorney Chesa Boudin’s office to join the recall effort.

Mom and Dad are terrorist murderers.

How does one keep the party going when key guests gather their coats and leave? And what if they’re not leaving quietly? Such is the situation for San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin. Prosecutors who work in his office are defecting. In fact, since Boudin started his term in office, at least 51 of the department’s attorneys have either been fired or have left of their own accord. The most dramatic departures have been the recent resignations of two assistant district attorneys, Brooke Jenkins and Donald du Bain. Both consider themselves progressive and committed to “restorative justice,” yet they not only quit and took their scathing reviews of Boudin to the media; they’ve also joined the Safer Without Boudin recall campaign seeking to oust their former boss from office.

Hating Jews is Becoming a Leftist Purity Test

The Jewish groups that failed to fight campus anti-Semitism are about to live under it.

When Sunrise Movement DC issued its ultimatum that either the Jews had to be kicked out or it would boycott a D.C. statehood rally, it was a familiar purity test. And, like most purity tests, was about testing a willingness to hate people and endorse a new extremist position on demand.

Purity tests that have no constructive purpose except to undermine and oust a leadership that is insufficiently radical have become commonplace in the Reign of Terror era of American politics.

Progressives are a gift to Islamism Young Brits are being taught to hate their country

In the almost 30 years that I have lived in the West, discussion surrounding Islamism has been stymied by one thing: the naïve belief that it will magically disappear. After every Islamist attack, promises are made. Ambitious changes to anti-terror programmes are ordered. Politicians line up to announce that this is the last time.

And yet somehow — despite all the vigils, all the pledges, all the policy announcements — Islamism remains as potent as ever.

Why is the US still in Syria?

A week ago, US troops camped out in the small, dusty Syrian outpost of al-Tanf suddenly found themselves under a “deliberate and coordinated attack“, as multiple explosive-laden drones barreled toward their positions. According to US officials who spoke to the AP on background, Iran “resourced and encouraged” the latest drone attack targeting US forces. The five drones were also reportedly Iranian-manufactured, leading to speculation that Tehran is testing the Biden administration at a time when nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran remain in limbo.

Fortunately, US troops managed to defuse the drone attack without suffering any casualties. But the near-miss was still deeply troubling, for it again illustrated the extremely dangerous environment in which nearly 1,000 US forces in Syria are operating.

Just the Beginning: Ten Afghan Evacuees Detained as National Security Risks

The Biden administration is giving America gifts that will keep on giving for generations to come, and one of the foremost of these gifts is the newly-arrived group of Afghan evacuees: 70,000 are now in the U.S., and the total number is expected to exceed 124,000 before long. One of Biden’s handlers, unnamed in a Wednesday Wall Street Journal report, has admitted that ten of these evacuees have already been detained as risks to national security. Only ten out of 70,000 isn’t bad, right? Sure. But Biden’s handlers’ catastrophic mishandling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan makes it virtually certain that there will be many more.
