4 people shot in DC, suspect took his own life as cops closed in

A crazed gunman allegedly shot three adults and a girl in a leafy section of Washington, DC, on Friday afternoon before taking his own life hours later as police closed in on the apartment where he was suspected of carrying out the attack, authorities said.

The suspect allegedly erected a “sniper-type setup” inside his fifth floor apartment and fired indiscriminately at passers-by at about 3:20 p.m. on Van Ness Street near Connecticut Avenue in the Northwest section of the city, police said.

India slams Rep. Ilhan Omar over ‘condemnable’ visit to Pakistan

India’s Ministry of External Affairs blasted far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar’s visit to Pakistan this week, calling her trip to the disputed region of Kashmir “condemnable.”

“We have noted that she has visited a part of Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir that is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan,” ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said of the Minnesota Democrat during a Wednesday press conference. “Let me just say that if such a politician wishes to practice her narrow-minded politics at home … that may be her business.”

The Fate of Julian Assange Is Now in the Hands of Britain’s Interior Minister

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is one step closer to extradition as a UK judge ruled that the fate of Assange — who published thousands of classified U.S. documents from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars — will rest in the hands of the British Interior Minister Priti Patel.

China Lurks Behind Most Crises Facing America

Since the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan last August and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it has felt like the world is on fire.  But in the midst of these attention-grabbing crises, there is an even more pernicious threat facing the United States and the signs are all around us.  Behind most major foreign policy issues lies China.

Take the Iran nuclear deal. Media reports indicate that Iran’s fleet of tankers has ferried at least $22 billion worth of illicit oil to the People’s Republic of China since 2021.  This has provided the Iranian regime with a major source of revenue and raised questions about the Biden administration’s lax enforcement of sanctions.

It is as good an example of China’s duplicity as can be found today.  But it is not an isolated incident.

Radical Gender Lessons for Young Children

Evanston–Skokie’s school district adopts a curriculum that teaches pre-K through third-grade students to “break the binary” of gender.

Evanston–Skokie School District 65 has adopted a radical gender curriculum that teaches pre-kindergarten through third-grade students to celebrate the transgender flag, break the “gender binary” established by white “colonizers,” and experiment with neo-pronouns such as “ze,” “zir,” and “tree.”

The Hierarchy of Oppression

Perhaps the most common conservative reaction to progressive ideas is one of bewilderment. They’re from a different planet, inhabit an alternate universe; they’re insane! Even moderates employ these phrases to express their inability to understand the progressive mentality. And this is so even in regard to problems like crime that traditionally have provided common ground for partisan factions. Thus, the 1994 Crime Bill – also known as the Clinton Crime Bill and the Biden Crime Bill, was passed by an overwhelming bi-partisan majority in Congress.[1] Yet today it is anathema to progressives, who see violent criminals as “victims” of an unjust criminal justice system, and theft as a form of “reparations.” Extreme reversals like this have prompted liberal dissenters like Joe Manchin, Bill Maher and former congressman Harold Ford to express support for conservative concerns that progressives are “out of touch with reality,” and their views “lack common sense.”

Did virus hunters cover up a lab leak?

The team was assembled to stop a pandemic — and then disappeared

In August 2016, a group of public health experts, policymakers and donors met in the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Conference Center overlooking Lake Como. Their aim was ambitious: to agree on “bold global action” that would mark the “beginning of the end of the pandemic era”. In other words, they hoped to find which viruses might cause the next pandemic, and get a head start on developing vaccines and drugs.

The warped mind behind Russia’s war

Alexander Dugin has endowed Putin’s brutal imperialism with an almost spiritual significance.

In 2014, a Foreign Affairs article described Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin as ‘Putin’s brain’.

At the time, it seemed a fitting epithet. The then 52-year-old Dugin was championing Russia’s annexation of Crimea and urging on the further conquest of the Donbas in eastern Ukraine. Superficially, at least, he seemed to be uncannily in tune with the Kremlin.

The white guilt in your coffee

Race-baiters are scraping the bottom of the coffee pot

How do you take your coffee? With cream? Sugar? A splash of white shame?

“The unbearable whiteness of coffee” is the click- and race-baiting headline of a Fast Company article that’s making the internet rounds (my innocent online purchase of Chemex coffee filters must have prompted this suggested guilt trip). I really didn’t want my most sacred morning ritual — and bright spot of many afternoons, for that matter — to be added to the list of things I shouldn’t enjoy because it’s racist. So I poured myself a large mug of fortifying Joe — potentially my last — and gripping it tightly, read the dreaded article and did some digging.

Obama: First Amendment Doesn’t Apply to Social Media Giants

Barack Obama’s sumptuous Hawaiian waterfront mansion is squared away, and he is done reminding Joe Biden that he is far more popular than the present hapless pseudo-president, so what’s a wealthy alleged elder statesman with time on his hands to do? Obama could have taken up surfing or beekeeping or started appearing in movies playing the president, but instead, he appears to have decided to go to war against the freedom of speech. Two weeks ago, he called for “regulatory measures” to rein in online “disinformation,” and on Thursday he amplified that call, claiming that the First Amendment simply doesn’t apply to the social media giants who have so much control over the parameters of the public discourse today.

Rex Murphy: Attempts to colour-code politics don’t belong in Canada

This is about the crowds showing up at Pierre Poilievre’s rallies, and it is not about the crowds showing up at his rallies. Of their size and enthusiasm both I and others have written. The crowds, in the numbers, showing up for his events in all parts of the country — even in the heart of downtown Toronto, at an apologetic venue mere yards from the headquarters of the CBC, the Canadian temple of current wokeness and identity/race fascination — have to be alarming for the bunch who have signed up to run against him.

Nolte: Why Democrats Oppose Pro-Grooming Disney Paying Its ‘Fair Share‘

Democrats are literally freaking out and melting down over the idea of the grooming-enablers at the Walt Disney Company paying their fair share of taxes, and I’m here to explain why… You’re welcome.

Every time I find common ground with Democrats, Democrats find new principles. Billionaire, multinational corporations should not receive special treatment, handouts, tax cuts, or what’s otherwise known as corporate welfare, Democrats say.
