This week, the ONS published data on births during 2025. According to their data, for the first time over 40 per cent of children born in England and Wales had at least one foreign-born parent. This rate has risen from 34 per cent in 2021, pre-Boriswave. As recently as 2008 children of foreign parents were only 30 per cent of the population and in 1998, before the ‘Blairwave’, they represented fewer than 20 per cent of births.

Canada’s top-skilled workers are leaving for the U.S. in droves for lower taxes and higher pay: TD study

A new report from TD Economics warns that Canada is losing its highest-skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and STEM graduates to the United States through a slow, largely invisible syphoning—calling the phenomenon a “silent brain drain.” The crisis, it argues, is less about who Canada can attract than who it fails to keep.

Much of the outflow never registers in Statistics Canada’s emigration data because it occurs through U.S. employer-sponsored work visas—temporary and semi-permanent pathways that conventional brain drain metrics simply don’t capture. Of the partial data Statistics Canada was able to retrieve, the agency determined that, in 2023, 18,590 Canadian residents emigrated to the U.S. permanently, with 30 percent of those people not being born in Canada.

The CBO recently revised its estimates concerning the number of illegal aliens entering or leaving the United States. More than a year ago, just before Inauguration Day, the CBO estimated that a net 1.1 million “other foreign nationals”—those lacking “a legal immigration status”—would be added to the U.S. population in 2025. Now the CBO has revised that estimate downward by a whopping 1.5 million illegal aliens—from an increase of 1.1 million to a decrease of 360,000. This downward revision of 1.5 million people is equivalent to the population of San Antonio.

A former child soldier from Sierra Leone who dodged deportation from Canada for a decade has been sentenced to five months in jail for returning to this country illegally.

Ibrahim Jalloh, a convicted fraudster and drug trafficker, was ordered out of the country in June 2012 for “serious criminality,” but he wasn’t actually deported until Dec. 29, 2023. Jalloh was sentenced earlier this spring in Alberta’s Court of Justice after police found him in Calgary on Dec. 31, 2025, contrary to an order not to return to Canada.

Third usual suspect charged in Oro-Medonte arson investigation

Provincial police say a third person has now been charged in connection to an arson investigation in an Oro-Medonte subdivision this past winter.

On May 13, police say officers from Orillia’s major crime unit arrested and charged Arsedeep Singh, 26, of Brampton, with arson – damage to property.

Harminder Sandhar, 40, of Kitchener, has been charged with two counts of arson – damage to property.

Dikshant Goyal, 22, of Brampton, has also been charged with two counts of arson – damage to property.

Families in the UK say they are angry at the decision by prosecutors not to charge a Canadian man who is alleged to have sold a lethal chemical linked to the deaths of 73 British people.

The father of one of those who died told the BBC that Kenneth Law had caused “devastation” and that he wanted Law to face charges in the UK.

Law, a former chef, is expected to admit 14 counts of assisting suicides in Canada when he appears in court in Ontario later on Friday.
