Wait times for most priority surgeries in Ontario have increased since 2017, study says

Wait times for most of the province’s publicly funded priority surgeries and procedures have increased between 2017 and 2025, according to a study released Monday.

MRI scans, cataract surgeries and all cancer surgeries are among eight priority procedures that saw increased wait times during the period, out of a total of 12, according to the study published by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA).

“It’s deeply alarming that so much money has been spent on for-profit surgeries and, yet, we don’t have the results to show what Ontarians are getting for those dollars,” said Andrew Longhurst, senior researcher at the centre.

I bet people abandoned OHIP in such numbers the private system is overwhelmed.

And what role does dumping the 3rd World into the mix have to do with this?

The animals will be sterilised and permanently moved to a newly constructed sanctuary. The plan has been fiercely criticised by animal rights activists, who say the monkeys should remain roaming freely, and that less destructive options have not been properly considered.

Internal Montreal police documents describe ‘radicalized’ subculture among officers

MONTREAL — A “radicalized” subculture formed among the ranks of officers at a Montreal police station in a multicultural neighbourhood before it was rocked by allegations of racism and criminal misconduct, newly released internal briefing notes say.

The documents, obtained by The Canadian Press through access to information legislation, are part of a package prepared for the appearance of Fady Dagher, Montreal’s police chief, before a municipal public safety committee in August.

No description of the subculture is provided but the ususal “experts” suggest it was white supremacist in nature.

“White supremacist” is the new one size fits all slur for Canadians’ trying to protect their culture and values from the government’s assault by mass immigration from incompatible cultures, ruinous aboriginal policy and the ongoing erasure of our heritage.

Hateful propaganda such as this article will serve to spur many more to stand up for their rights against the racist proponents of mass immigration.

Donald Trump has said five men arrested over a suspected bomb plot targeting RAF Fairford should not have been bailed.

The British nationals, aged 23 to 25, were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of terrorism and explosive offences after three vans were discovered near the air base in Gloucestershire.

But on Monday police said that following “extensive interviews and inquiries”, all five men had been released on police bail.

Canada did not see historic population decline last year, StatsCan says after second look

Canada’s population saw a slight bump in 2025, Statistics Canada says, revising a previous estimate that showed the population decreased for the first time in the country’s history.

The statistics agency released new numbers last week that suggest the population grew slightly, by 280,810 people, in all of 2025.

The new estimate is a revision from data released in March that indicated the country had seen an annual net decline in residents for the first time since Confederation.

Ten men have been jailed for a combined 130 years after a mother was set on fire in a revenge attack that also seriously injured a teenage girl.

To escape the flames at a house on Beverley Drive in Stoke-on-Trent, on the night of 16 December 2021, both victims were forced to jump from an upstairs window they had smashed.

The convictions of the 10 men involved came after an 11-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court, which ended in February, alongside a number of guilty pleas entered before the trial began.

A New York Times executive was fatally shot in California, allegedly by his wife’s elderly parents who have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Jonathan McKinsey, 40, the newspaper’s director of engineering for games player experience, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a car park in Dublin – 35 miles (56km) west of San Francisco – on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, his parents-in-law who are both 77 years old, are facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
