A 30-year-old man from Norfolk, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released on bail after being declared not fit for interview.

Billionaire businessman Frank Stronach, who was accused of sexually assaulting several women decades ago, has been found guilty of sexual assault and indecent assault.
Stronach, who is 93, pleaded not guilty to 12 charges stemming from alleged incidents involving seven complainants.
A new round of direct talks between the US and Iran have been postponed after Vice-President JD Vance delayed a planned trip to Switzerland.
The White House announced late on Thursday that Vance would not be travelling to the talks and said the logistics had not been “simple or predictable”.
It comes a day after the US dropped its naval blockade of Iran after the two countries signed a deal aimed at ending the conflict.
The proposed crude oil pipeline from Alberta’s oilsands to the B.C. coast that Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has been championing and that Prime Minister Mark Carney has ostensibly signed off on in a “grand bargain” last month is unlikely to be built.
It won’t begin construction as early as next year, as Smith has suggested, or be delivering one million barrels a day of Alberta crude to the Pacific coast by the mid-2030s, if ever.

Trump alleged that at the recent G7 summit in France, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had “begged” him for a joint photograph. He said words to the effect of: “She begged me to take a picture with her. She wanted a picture with me so badly. I wouldn’t have taken it, but I felt sorry for her.” He also suggested she was probably happy he even spoke to her.

Newly uncovered videos and images show Canadian-made sniper rifles in the hands of Sudanese paramilitary fighters and a Libyan militia, as well as openly advertised online by Yemeni arms dealers, according to a CBC News visual investigation.
Sudan and Libya are both under Canadian arms embargoes, while Yemen faces targeted sanctions, precisely because they are home to groups known for committing widespread human rights abuses, torture and mass killings.
“If Canada was doing enough then we wouldn’t see a pattern of the illicit diversion of Canadian weapons systems in violation of UN arms embargoes,” said Kelsey Gallagher of Project Ploughshares, a Canadian peace research institute, reacting to CBC’s findings.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said Wednesday that a group of First Nations chiefs need to “check themselves,” after they accused her of potential treasonous activity for calling a separation vote.
The Assembly of Treaty Chiefs, representing First Nations across Alberta, unanimously voted this week to ask RCMP to look into whether the province’s fall referendum amounts to criminal treason by Smith and her United Conservative Party.
The chiefs, in a news release, said organizing the vote is an intentional treaty violation and that Smith’s government is ignoring serious risks to Canada’s sovereignty.
