President Donald Trump said he would direct the General Services Administration and USTR to remove Canadian-origin products from federal government contracts, hitting back at Ottawa over retaliatory tariffs and escalating the trade war between the two neighbors.
The moves will take place “unless Canada restores full and fair reciprocity for American Farmers and Companies,” Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Tuesday. Trump said the so-called Multiple Award Schedules are worth more than $50 billion each year.
