Trump takes Carney’s phone call as tariff deadline approaches
Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke over the phone with Donald Trump on Monday afternoon ahead of the U.S. president’s tariff deadline.
While CTV News has confirmed the conversation took place, the Prime Minister’s Office would not provide further details, other than that the conversation was about “the ongoing trade negotiations.”

Iranians offered $30k to kill US troops
Iran has offered its soldiers and citizens $30,000 (£22,000) for killing or capturing any American troops, with the reward doubled if a woman completes the mission.

A 22-year-old Somali small boat migrant stabbed an asylum hotel welfare officer with a large kitchen knife ‘multiple times’, a court has heard.
Abdifatah Yusuf Adani knifed Aaron Gomes at the Stanwell Hotel in west London at around 6.30pm on Saturday, August 15.
Armed officers from Surrey Police rushed to the hotel and found Mr Gomes, a man in his 30s, suffering from life-threatening injuries.
