🚨🚨THE DEMOCRACY FILES, PART 1: THE PLAN 🚨

I am working on gathering all the documents.

Now, here’s something to understand about the "democracy" and protest ecosystem: almost nobody knows the ‘grand plan’ so to speak. They simply agree to play a role.

For example, 99% of people breaking stuff on the streets believe they’re doing it out of an organic uprising. They don’t see that the police have been ordered to stand down. They don’t see that legal services have already been arranged for them. They don’t see that foundations are paying for their bonds.

Similarly here, governors aren’t participating in a pact to destroy the Constitution. Governors simply have agreed to push back on the Insurrection Act. The effect is the same: the governors end up playing a role in a grander plan.

I call this "shared epistemology" in my book Unelected. Motivations differ, people rarely agree to the big evil supervillain framing, but incentives all converge in the same end goal.

No Kings might not agree to explicitly tear down the Constitution, but they nonetheless work with DSA and will turn out millions of people if the right phone call is put in.

Here is one articulation of the plan – and crucially, since then, they have put many NGOs in their places to execute their proper role at all levels when the time is right.

Familiar images of teargas clouds drifting across Paris squares, police baton charges against masked protesters and terrified teenagers floored – and worse – by stun grenades have once again focused the world’s attention on France’s policing methods.

While most of its western European neighbours generally favour police tactics that prioritise crowd containment and de-escalation, France has long responded to social movements that take to the streets with, at times, shocking physical force.

Idea of partnering with U.S. is ‘under attack’ in Canada, Hoekstra says

The U.S. Ambassador says the idea of Canadians partnering with the United States “is under attack here in Canada.”

Envoy Pete Hoekstra, speaking in Gatineau on Tuesday at a conference on the space sector, played down a costly trade war currently under way between the U.S and Canada, and signalled Washington is closely watching talk from Ottawa about scaling back dealings with the U.S.

From the Trump administration’s perspective, the U.S. is “not in a trade war with Canada,” Mr. Hoekstra said. Rather, he said, Washington is trying to determine what level of tariffs should apply to Canadian products if sellers want to gain access to the U.S.

As France picks up the pieces after a weekend of riots, Emmanuel Macron will sit down to a lavish state dinner in Qatar, more than 3,000 miles away.

The French president, who was due to meet the emir of Qatar on Tuesday during a Gulf tour to secure fuel supplies, has rarely seemed so distant from the people on city streets strewn with smashed glass.

He leaves behind a power vacuum that Marine Le Pen is determined to fill after elections in April, which Mr Macron cannot fight after serving two terms.

Military safety rules urged early-morning training before deadly Wainwright fire

The Canadian military’s safety rules identify October as a high-risk month for grass fires at CFB Wainwright and recommend holding live-fire exercises early in the morning to minimize the risk of igniting a blaze, according to a document obtained by Global News.

The details are contained in the military’s current Range Standing Orders for CFB Wainwright and raise new questions about the safety precautions in place before Saturday’s deadly blaze, which killed four Canadian soldiers and injured 39 others.

The inquiry will take a year. Can the victims sue for negligence?

‘Blockade’ and chaos: 75 students suspended at high school in Saint-Jérôme

At least 75 students who took part in a “blockade” last week at École polyvalente de Saint-Jérôme, about an hour away from Montreal, have been suspended until next Friday by the school’s administration.

An Algerian migrant who ripped a £65,000 luxury watch from the wrist of a Canadian tourist has been jailed for almost three years.

Serial watch thief Txomin Huare-Place, 31, grabbed the Patek Philippe timepiece from coffee house owner Axel Schwan as he visited Wimbledon.

Visiting England for the 2024 Wimbledon finals, Mr Schwan had just accompanied his wife to an auction at Sotheby’s in Mayfair after watching a match when Huare-Place struck – and was caught on CCTV.

Well at least no one was enriched by rape or murder this time.

Albertans have voted to remain. Now what?

Well, thank G-d that’s over.

Alberta’s meta-referendum on whether to hold a referendum on separation suffered a predictable defeat. Forget actual separation, a clear majority—about three-quarters—of Albertans don’t even want to be asked the question. Now we see what happens next.

Of course, the actual number of Albertans who want to be an independent country is much less than around a quarter. Of those who voted for Option 2, some want full independence, a smaller number want to shift dependence to the United States, and most don’t want either but were happy to whack the smug Laurentians with the only stick at hand. It’s an understandable temptation.
