Why do Canadians cherish privacy in the first place? If a person has nothing to hide, why should they care if the authorities can read their emails, texts, or AI conversations? Why does Section 8 of the Charter expressly protect Canadians against unreasonable search and seizure?

Even completely innocent people who have nothing to hide rightfully cherish their ability to think, speak, explore ideas, and meet with others, without the state silently observing their every move. If we are not comfortable with a nosy neighbour (or even a close friend!) knowing everything about us, why should we accept the state knowing all kinds of things about our personal lives?

Donald Trump’s latest egregious example of putting the screws to Canada

The Trump administration’s decision this week to “suspend” the 86-year-old Permanent Joint Board on Defence sent some of us scurrying back to our well-thumbed copies of “The Good Allies,” the late Tim Cook’s study of the wartime alliance between Canada and the United States.

The joint board on defence, which the Americans clearly no longer regard as “permanent,” has (or had) its origins in that alliance. It was a forum for Canadians and Americans, mostly senior military leaders, to hash out common defence issues a couple of times a year.

Wait till the CUSMA review.

Reparations, its proponents insist, are payments white Americans owe black Americans for enslaving them, a practice that ended 163 years ago. These advocates would have us believe that seven or eight generations after the fact, the limitations and inequalities of slavery still hold slavery’s descendants back and deny them their chance at the American dream. And somebody has to pay.

Setting aside the logic of that claim for the moment — while noting its similarity to the familiar liberal mantra: “Vote for us, and we’ll give you stuff!” — let us consider the practical question: Who exactly should pay whom?

‘The Story of Everything’ 2026

The Story of Everything is a 2026 documentary addressing the question of whether or not science supports the possible existence of a creator God. Before I get too deep in the weeds of this review, let me say, I loved The Story of Everything. The Story of Everything is a polished, professional, engrossing documentary that any thinking person, including high school students, could enjoy. Please go see it in a theater if you can, and if you can’t, grab it up as soon as it appears in other formats. Its run is limited, and in the theater where I saw it, there was only one showing. Otherwise, I would have happily sat through this film three times. I was on the edge of my seat. I want a miniseries continuing the work of the documentary, complete with supplemental materials, including question-and-answer notebooks viewers can fill in to review, test, and reinforce all they’ve learned.

“Let’s go to where I stabbed this dude,” Robert Rundo tells the camera outside a convenience store in Queens, N.Y., wearing a backward hat and sunglasses as he aggressively chews gum.

In the short propaganda video for his California-based Rise Above Movement, which was posted in February, the native New Yorker is almost gleeful as he recalls the moment. In a detailed play-by-play of this “street warfare” incident, he describes how, in 2009, he battered and stabbed an alleged member of a Salvadoran-American street gang known as MS-13 over a territory dispute in his childhood neighbourhood. The camera shakes while the 36-year-old delivers his stand-up; the footage, which appears digitally altered to look gritty, is interspersed with images of him doing pull-ups with his shirt off and boxing in a gym. The video’s bland title, “Where I’m From: White Working Class Queens,” gives the game away in its opening text: “A fascist in the concrete jungle.” “Fascist” is clearly not meant derogatorily.

In Canada the CBC and its hate group allies have lead the moral panic over “Active Clubs” because it’s racist for White people to associate with one another.

Britain is no longer divided by ordinary politics. It has split into two rival nations which loathe each other, obey different moral rules and receive radically different treatment from the state.

Last Saturday’s rival demonstrations in London exposed that divide with unusual clarity. On one side stood ‘Unite The Kingdom,’ the event organised primarily by now-veteran nationalist campaigner Tommy Robinson. At this, thousands of people who are angry about immigration, national decline, and the feeling that their country is being transformed without their consent gathered in order to display their frustration and patriotism.
