Russian former figure skating world champion Irina Slutskaya says it is ‘unusual’ to see male performers ‘who want to be like women’ as she spoke out against men competing in the typically feminine sport of rhythmic gymnastics.

Appearing on a YouTube talk show with Russian RT journalist Anton Krasovsky, Slutskaya was asked about the possibility of male rhythmic gymnastics becoming more recognized – particularly as women freely compete in traditionally men’s sports such as boxing.

Military sexual misconduct class action claims soar to 13,500 as deadline nears

The number of claims in the military sexual misconduct class action lawsuit has nearly doubled over the last four months, soaring to more than 13,000 as the deadline for new claimants nears.

With three weeks left until the deadline, the number of claims now sits at 13,522 — an increase of 6,176 from the 7,346 claims that had been submitted as of July 14, 2021.

That’s an awful lot of claimants.

Why is the FBI investigating the theft of a diary?

Good question. It goes right along with the good question of why the Department of Justice wanted to probe parental behavior at local school board meetings, which at worst should have only interested local law enforcement. Even if said diary belonged to the adult daughter of a presidential candidate, Jonathan Turley wrote yesterday, what federal statute gives the FBI jurisdiction to raid Project Veritas and James O’Keefe’s home over it?

The Biden Administration is considering shutting down a Michigan oil pipeline in another push to get the U.S, away from fossil fuels, despite warnings from Republican lawmakers who believe the move would result in fuel price shocks throughout the Midwest.

The administration is exploring the possibility of terminating the Line 5 pipeline – which links Superior, Wisconsin, with Sarnia, Ontario – and gathering data to determine if shutting down the line will cause a surge in fuel pricing, according to published reports.

In a letter dated Thursday, 13 Congress members – led by Ohio Rep. Bob Latta – urged the president to keep the oil line in operation, saying: ‘Line 5 is essential to the lifeblood of the Midwest.’

Harvey Milk: US Navy launches ship named for gay rights leader

The US Navy has launched a ship named after a gay rights activist forced to resign from the service because of his sexuality in the 1950s.

The USNS Harvey Milk was launched in San Diego on Saturday in a service attended by Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro and Milk’s nephew, Stuart.

It is one of six new ships to be named after famed US civil rights leaders.

Others include former Chief Justice Earl Warren and slain presidential candidate Robert Kennedy.

Travis Scott concerts known for violence and injuries, reports show

Rapper Travis Scott has a history of inciting music festival crowds to ignore security and violently storm the stage, for which he has been arrested and sued by fans.

Scott was arrested at music festivals at Arkansas in 2017 and again at Chicago in 2015 for whipping up hysteria and encouraging moshing that left security guard and concertgoers injured.

Eight people were killed and more than 300 injured in the stampede at Friday night’s Astroworld festival at NRG Park in Scott’s native Houston.
