The day before Thanksgiving, a “thoroughly vetted” military age male, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, decided he had pressing matters to attend to that didn’t involve spending the holiday expressing gratitude to the United States for granting him asylum and giving him an unearned and unprecedented opportunity to build a life here, rather than languish another half century in that squalid dump we call Afghanistan. Rather, he decided that jihad took precedence, and opened fire on two National Guardsmen who were spending their holiday not with family, but on the streets of our own squalid dump we call Washington D.C., in an effort to keep its beleaguered citizens safe.
WHAT DROVE THE DC SHOOTER? Three days before an Afghan refugee ambushed two National Guard soldiers in Washington, killing one and critically wounding the other, Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin appeared on ABC News to express her fear that members of the Guard would soon attack innocent civilians. “It makes me incredibly nervous,” Slotkin said, “that we’re about to see people in law enforcement, people in uniformed military, get nervous, get stressed, shoot at American civilians.”
Slotkin, of course, had it completely wrong. In real life, the Guard did not attack civilians. A civilian attacked the Guard.
More than 5,000 Afghans brought to the US after American forces withdrew from the country got flagged for “national security” issues, Department of Homeland Security data obtained by The Post reveals.
In all, the feds uncovered “potential derogatory information” on a total of 6,868 people who came from Afghanistan as part of President Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome in 2021.
This month, as President Trump travelled to his Mar-a-Lago estate, he told reporters aboard Air Force One that he had “sort of” made up his mind about whether to launch US military strikes on Venezuela. “I can’t tell you what it would be,” he added.
Publicly the president has been keeping his options open. But behind the scenes, some of the most powerful people around him have been trying to persuade him to attack Venezuela — and remove its president, Nicolás Maduro — in what would be an extraordinary escalation of months-long military build-up in the Caribbean.
Those in favour of the strikes say they could bring democracy and prosperity to Venezuela and provide a way for the eight million people who have fled the country in the past ten years to return. These include hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans who came to the US and who the Trump administration would like to deport from the country.

At the same time, a growing political movement seeks to legalize millions of illegal aliens, offering them a pathway to citizenship and, eventually, access to these entitlement programs—programs to which they haven’t, or have barely, contributed. It is well-known that Abraham Lincoln launched an invasion without consulting Congress as the Constitution stipulated, but what is less well-known is his instructing his police to imprison thousands of dissident Northerners, lettres de cachet flying fast and furious; suspending the writ of habeas corpus; arresting critical newspaper editors and publishers and shutting down their telegraph communications; using troops to intimidate voters; remanding dissenting “copperheads” to Fort Lafayette, an institution earmarked for political prisoners; and compelling the judiciary to adjudicate on his behalf — for the most part, the judiciary complied. As we find in Roy Basler’s The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln was even ready to imprison any citizen who had the temerity to remain silent and not support his war aims. After all, Lincoln had a war to fight.
In a Thanksgiving message late Thursday night, President Trump attacked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, criticizing his intellectual capacity, and also attacked Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar as part of a lengthy denunciation of Minnesota’s large Somali community, which has recently come under scrutiny.
Early Friday, the White House pushed out over X the Truth Social posting where Mr. Trump made his remarks, calling them “one of the most important messages ever released by President Trump. Read every word.”
Afghan national admitted via Operation Allies Welcome charged with making terroristic threat, DHS says
An Afghan national was arrested this week after posting a video of himself on TikTok indicating he was building a bomb with an intended target of the Fort Worth area in Texas, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Fox News.
Court records show that Mohammad Dawood Alokozay was charged at the state level with making a terroristic threat.

The Trump administration is working toward cutting illegal migrants off from federal tax benefits and money transfer services, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday.
“At [President Trump’s] direction, we are working to cut off federal benefits to illegal aliens and preserve them for U.S. citizens,” Bessent wrote on X.
As part of the effort, the Treasury Department will propose new regulations “clarifying that the refunded portions of certain individual income tax benefits are no longer available to illegal and other non-qualified aliens, covering the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Additional Child Tax Credit, the American Opportunity Tax Credit, and the Saver’s Match Credit,” according to the the Trump administration official.

President Trump claimed Friday that he was repealing all documents signed by former President Joe Biden using an autopen — and threatened to have his predecessor “brought up on charges of perjury” if he asserts that staffers were acting on his orders when using the mechanical.
Trump, 79, has for months characterized Biden, 83, as AWOL during his four-year term and claimed that unelected aides were running the country without authorization.

When Canada does not expel Chinese spies operating within the country, it signals to China and the United States that Canada is “open territory” for Chinese infiltration, says Charles Burton, a China scholar and senior fellow of the Sinopsis think tank.

The latest brutal act of Afghan refugee terrorism claimed the lives of two brave members of the National Guard in D.C.. Since their arrival in the United States, Afghan ‘refugees’ have been involved in violent attacks, in assorted crimes, and in sexual assaults on women and girls.
The attack by Rahmanullah Lakanwal took place a mere week after another Afghan, Abdullah Haji Zada, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the Election Day plot.
