MI5 names Christine Ching Kui Lee as Chinese agent infiltrating Parliament & greasing MP’s palms

MI5 has issued a rare warning to MPs that a Chinese agent has infiltrated Parliament to interfere in UK politics.

An alert from the security service said Christine Ching Kui Lee “established links” for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with current and aspiring MPs.

She then gave donations to politicians, with funding coming from foreign nationals in China and Hong Kong.

It comes after a “significant, long-running” investigation by MI5, Whitehall sources told the BBC.

One of the MPs funded by Ms Lee was Labour’s Barry Gardiner, who received over £420,000 from her in five years.

UK tells asylum seeker he can return to Syria safely

The Home Office has told a Syrian asylum seeker he can return to the country he fled during the war because it is safe to do so, in what is thought to be the first case of its kind.

The 25-year-old asylum seeker sought sanctuary in the UK in May 2020. He fled forcible conscription into Bashar al-Assad’s army in 2017, saying that he would have been forced to kill other Syrians. He said that if he is forced back to Syria he will be targeted as a draft evader, arrested, detained and killed.

An Islamist extremist who stabbed a former UK government minister more than 11 years ago has written to him to apologise.

Roshonara Choudhry stabbed and wounded opposition Labour politician Stephen Timms during a meeting in 2010, saying it was in retaliation for him voting for war in Iraq. She is currently serving a life sentence in prison.

UK Islamic school was ‘petri dish of terror that tortured pupils’

A former pupil at an Islamic religious school in Leicester has told how he and hundreds of other pupils were subjected to Guantanamo Bay-inspired torture and described the school as a “petri dish” for terrorists.

Adam — who did not want his full name to be used — described having to squat for long periods with his hands looped under his knees and holding his ears. This, he said, was punishment for not having learnt verses of the Quran correctly.

Conservative MP Sir David Amess was stabbed to death in October in a suspected Islamist terror attack. It shocked the nation.

But the political and media response to his killing revealed something else, too. Namely, that we live in a society that is increasingly indulging in terror denialism – especially when it comes to the threat posed by Islamist terrorism.

This was clear from the way politicians and pundits were quick to blame Amess’s killing on anything but Islamist terrorism.

Salman Abedi punching a female student after a row about her wearing a short skirt could have been a red flag to his radicalisation, an inquiry has heard.

Abedi, who killed 22 people in the Manchester Arena bombing, hit the girl in the face at Manchester College.

The inquiry heard there was a pattern of those convicted of Islamist extremist offences also having a history of violence towards women.

Dr Matthew Wilkinson said Abedi had a “very bad attitude towards women”.

That’s racist! Beating up women is his culture!

Manchester Arena Inquiry: No sign of Abedi’s extremism at school, teacher says

The Manchester Arena bomber’s former head teacher has told an inquiry there was no sign of his extremism while he was at school.

Twenty-two people were killed when Salman Abedi detonated a bomb in the venue’s foyer on 22 May 2017.

Abedi studied at Burnage Academy for Boys in Manchester for about 18 months between 2009 and 2011.

The public inquiry into the attack heard he was “aggressive and rude” to teachers and was suspended from school.

BBC amend article suggesting victims of Oxford street antisemitism used racial slurs

The BBC has changed an article on its website suggesting that the Jewish victims of the now-viral Oxford Street antisemitism incident used anti-Muslim racial slurs.

The original piece stated that “some racial slurs can be heard from inside the bus.”

When approached for comment, a BBC spokesperson said: “The article is about the police’s appeal for information. The main focus is the actions of the individuals the police want to identify. The audio appears to show that a slur can be heard coming from the bus. We have changed our story to clarify only one such slur can be heard clearly.”

A sound and audio professional contacted by the JC said he was unable to distinguish the alleged slur saying: “I think even a audio forensic specialist would struggle to get something useful [from the clip] ”]

In response to the BBC story, the Board of Deputies said: “It appears that the BBC has a very serious case to answer here. Incorrectly accusing those experiencing antisemitism of being guilty of bigotry themselves is adding insult to injury.”

Boris Johnson under fire over No 10 lockdown Christmas parties

Boris Johnson says no Covid rules were broken after reports Christmas parties were held in Downing Street at the height of last year’s lockdown.

The BBC has spoken to a source who attended a Downing Street gathering on 18 December, as first reported in the Mirror newspaper.

They said “several dozen” people were at the event, where party games were played and food and drink served.

The PM did not deny parties were held but said “all guidance was followed”.

The source at the 18 December gathering said it had gone on past midnight, and that the “mood was down”, with concern building about the new Kent variant of coronavirus.

…London was placed under Tier 3 lockdown restrictions on 14 December last year, after which time people were not allowed to mix indoors with anyone outside their household or support bubble.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer accused the prime minister of hypocrisy for flouting the rules he had ordered the rest of the country to follow.

The incident occurred in Oxford Street on Monday evening and was reported to the Community Security Trust by two people on the bus.

…London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “Antisemitism has no place whatsoever in society and I utterly condemn these disgusting acts. No one should have to experience this. “If you have any information about this incident, I urge you to report it.”

Was Iranian mother’s death an ‘honour killing’? Police probe whether woman was killed due to ‘cultural reasons’

Detectives are investigating whether the death of a mother at a house in Liverpool may have been due to ‘cultural reasons’.

Malak Adabzadeh, 47, also known as Katy, was found dead at an address in Stoneycroft shortly before 5pm on Thursday, according to Merseyside Police.

Police said Ms Adabzadeh had been living in Stoneycroft but was originally from Iran.

That’s some “culture” you got there.
