‘Terrorizing our community’: Arrests made in GTA extortion attempts

Police in Peel Region are investigating 29 separate cases of attempted extortion targeting South Asian business owners in a rash of crime Brampton’s mayor says is “terrorizing” the community.

Investigators announced the probes as part of their newly-minted Extortion Investigative Task Force (opens in a new tab)(EITF) at a news conference on Wednesday and identified five suspects who have been arrested in connection with three alleged incidents across the Greater Toronto Area since December 2023.

Toronto police allege suspect connected to mother’s killing has fled Canada

Police said they had identified 19-year-old Ahmed Ali as the last of three suspects allegedly involved in the shooting and said he was facing charges of manslaughter and robbery with a firearm.

Ali is believed to have fled to Somalia shortly after the shooting, said Det. Sgt. Henri Marsman.

Canadian universities and colleges trying to come to grips with fallout from international student scam

Graduating Class of ’24

Post secondary schools across the country are trying to come to grips with the financial impact of the federal government’s cap on international study permits, assessing short-term issues such as visa processing delays and longer-term threats to entire programs and schools.

The study permit cap, announced Jan. 22 by Immigration Minister Marc Miller, is likely to mean a loss of hundreds of millions in tuition revenue across universities and both public and private colleges.

Canada Must End Reliance on Cheap Foreign Labor, Minister Says

Canada’s immigration minister is taking steps to curb the country’s dependence on temporary foreign labor and international students, prompting pushback from business groups that say there aren’t enough domestic workers available to sustain parts of the economy.

Marc Miller introduced a limit on foreign student visas last month, cutting them by 35% for this year. He will announce further changes soon to restrict students’ off-campus work hours and he’s also reviewing the country’s temporary foreign worker program, he told Bloomberg News in an interview.

They said the same thing when the Temporary Foreign Worker program was exposed under Harpe.

It’s even worse under Trudeau. They’ll announce a short term lowering of the numbers and call it problem solved.

It’s all BULLSHIT. The foreign student and temp worker programs along with asylum seekers and family reunification intake are sideshows.

Until they lower the immigration intake of 500K a year it will only get worse.

The Border Crisis Is The Definition Of A Foreign ‘Invasion’

When the Rev. Al Sharpton used the word “invasion” to describe the onslaught of migrants at the southern U.S. border on Monday, his MSNBC guest suddenly stopped nodding along. And then the fast blinking began — he was triggered. Because to the American left, the word “invasion” is off-limits and even “violence-inciting.”

New Jersey-based smuggling gang run by illegal aliens has helped dozens sneak into US from CANADA for $6,000 a head

As the migrant crisis reaches boiling point and divides cities and states, DailyMail.com can reveal another border scandal occurring right under Americans’ noses.

These are the faces of a prolific people smuggling gang run by undocumented migrants who started sneaking into the US illegally in 2019 and are now offering passage to others by bringing them in from Canada for $6,000-a-head.

Several have been running the gang from New Jersey, where they settled after being released by ICE.

A Border Crisis By Design – It is unequivocally the intended result of Biden administration policy.

Three years into the border crisis, most Americans still don’t understand what’s actually happening at the border. This lack of understanding extends to the mainstream press and to most Republicans, who have struggled to communicate effectively on the issue.

The cause of the current crisis is President Joe Biden’s unprecedented refusal to enforce federal immigration law, which requires that all asylum-seekers be detained rather than released into the United States. The solution, therefore, is for Biden to start enforcing federal law as he is constitutionally required to do—or for Congress to deny the president something else he wants until he does.

Sudbury nurse launches court battle after losing job over her struggles speaking English

A nurse who failed to pass her probationary period in Sudbury largely because of her struggle to communicate in English has filed a labour grievance against her employer.

The Ontario Nurses’ Association filed the grievance motion on her behalf claiming that her firing was discriminatory and violated the Ontario Human Rights Code. In a recent decision, an arbitrator rejected efforts by Health Sciences North to dismiss the case on the basis of jurisdiction in a preliminary motion.

The nurse worked in Saudi Arabia and the Philippines before coming to Canada and working as a PSW for two years. She received her Canadian nursing credentials and worked in homecare in Sault Ste. Marie

I have dealt with nurses who barely speak English or speak in so heavily accented a manner it is near impossible to understand them.

Illegal Immigration: Violence vs Votes

The left is playing the long game.

A video of New York City Police officers being assaulted by a group of illegal immigrants was making the rounds earlier this week, and it wasn’t pretty. Two of the Big Apple’s finest were shown on West 42nd Street near Times Square wrestling someone to the ground while others piled on with kicks and punches. It looked to all the world like a mob was about to form and overwhelm the officers.

The Clapham attack endangers the social contract

Both ends of society are undermining postwar norms

By now the chemical attack perpetrated in Clapham by the Afghan sex offender and asylum seeker Abdul Ezedi has triggered full-throated pandemonium. Ezedi entered the UK on a lorry, had his asylum claim declined twice, was convicted of a sex offence, and was finally granted asylum after claiming to have converted to Christianity. Now he is on the run after throwing corrosive chemicals over a toddler. Not without reason, many are wondering: why was he here at all?

Hysteria on the Left as ‘Take Back Our Border’ Convoy Moves Through Texas

It’s as inevitable as the sun rising in the east. Any gathering of conservatives, be they right, center right, or religious right, the entire group is branded “far right” and a danger to the community.
