Roberta Murray, a 31-year-old Irish national, has lived in Berlin for two and a half years, putting on art exhibitions and working in a café. Murray has no criminal convictions, and has a basic right to settle and work anywhere in the European Union.
However, along with three other pro-Palestinian activists, from Ireland, Poland and the US, Murray is facing deportation and a two-year ban on re-entering Germany even before a legal appeal can be heard in court.
The BBC has been accused of parroting “Islamist propaganda” after describing Muslim converts as “reverts”.
The controversial term was used throughout an article about Eid – the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan – published by BBC News on Friday.
The term “revert” is used by some to back claims that Muslim converts are merely returning to the faith all humans are born into before being corrupted by Christianity, other religions or atheism.
The Ahlul Bayt Mosque, a prominent Shi’a Islamic center in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, regularly uses its social media platforms to express its support for Hizbullah and Hamas, both of which are designated as terrorist organizations by Canada. The mosque’s Youth Collective, @ aycwindsor, and the youth collective’s women’s group, @ ayc_sisters, frequently post tributes on Instagram to the late Hizbullah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah, the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and the late IRGC Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
Another institution operated by the mosque is an educational institution known as Ahlul Bayt Islamic School, which is directly affiliated with the mosque’s leadership. The school’s extremist tendencies were clearly evident in a public statement issued jointly by mosque and the school condemning Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a “Zionist” complicit in the killing of Gaza children and the destruction of Lebanon. It went on to declare unwavering support for “our honorable resistance” Hizbullah and Hamas and expressing pride in their cause.
HMP Frankland, in Durham, is supposed to be one of the most secure jails in the country. The category A prison holds terrorists and murderers, including Soham child killer Ian Huntley. Frankland should be a place of order, where the state is in absolute control. Yet the jail is said to be so overrun with Islamists that inmates who refuse to join their gangs are being forced into separation units for their own safety.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) blocked the construction of a proposed Muslim-majority “city” in the Lone Star State. The development, which was reportedly backed by a group of Islamic investors, aimed to create a self-contained community with its own set of laws and governance. Abbott’s intervention underscores his commitment to preserving the state’s traditional values and upholding U.S. constitutional principles. Supporters applaud Abbott for taking a stand against what they see as an attempt to undermine the nation’s unity and identity.
Toronto police spent nearly $20 million to secure protests related to the Israel-Hamas war and to conduct community outreach within the city’s Jewish and Muslim communities last year, a new report shows.
“Maintaining public order is integral to core service delivery and adheres to provincial standards of adequate and effective policing,” the report, which will go before the Toronto Police Services Board next week, states.
The report says that in 2024, the service responded to over 2,000 “unplanned events” and that more than half of those were associated with Project Resolute, which was launched after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel and saw police ramp up their presence throughout the city via command posts and community engagement.
It’s not as if the city rolled out the welcome mat for Hamas.

On Thursday, April 3rd, the European Parliament’s Strasbourg plenary adopted a resolution to condemn Iran for executing hundreds of political prisoners each year and to call for revoking the death sentence of two prominent activists facing imminent execution.
However, when the national conservative Patriots for Europe (PfE) wanted to add an amendment to also condemn the treatment of women under Sharia law and warn about the informal spread of the practice in Europe, the Parliament blocked the initiative before MEPs could even vote on it.

It has failed to act decisively against imams who call for the shedding of Jewish blood. It has ignored incitement on university campuses, tolerated the spread of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish libels and defamation through public broadcasters that it funds. In the process, it has encouraged antisemitic opinions to intensify and be legitimized.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A third defendant pleaded guilty Wednesday for his role in an attempt to bribe a juror with a bag of $120,000 in cash in exchange for acquittals in a massive COVID-19-related fraud case in Minnesota.
Abdulkarim Shafii Farah pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of a juror. He was the third of five defendants to admit to federal charges arising from the bribery case, which broke last year during the first trial of people charged in the Feeding Our Future scandal. Two of the seven defendants in that trial were Farah’s brothers.
Ilhan Omar was likely married to all of these guys at one point.
Michael Stewart – head of the UK government’s counter-extremism scheme, Prevent – announced he was stepping down last week after a damning review exposed Prevent’s failures in relation to the Southport attacker, Axel Rudakubana. Good. Stewart presided over a truly catastrophic failure, leading to the murder of three young girls. But Prevent’s problems go much deeper than the man at the top.

Opponents of a proposed Muslim city in Texas flooded a public meeting Monday in hopes of stopping a controversial Islamic compound from getting necessary permits to begin construction.
For hours, the Collin County Commissioners Court heard dozens of speakers pleading with them to deny the East Plano Islamic Center or EPIC, permits needed to build a city for Muslims that’s meant to be ‘the epicenter of Islam in America’ by organizers.
EPIC, a sprawling house of worship located in Plano, Texas- just north of Dallas- has recently become a target for Gov. Greg Abbott who has accused the mosque of breaking the law, despite no arrests or charges being made public.
Toronto Police confirm a charge was laid following a weekend encounter involving a keffiyeh-wearing man at the Eaton Centre that was caught on video and posted to social media.
The trial of Mounir Boutaa has just opened in Bordeaux. This man is accused of killing his wife Chahinez Daoud in 2021 after abusing and beating her, dousing her with petrol, and burning her alive.
He took responsibility for his actions in advance: “At least his honour would be cleared and in prison, he would be seen as a man, whereas now he would be seen as a faggot,” a friend of Chahinez explained Boutaa’s reasoning.
