A curious statistic from the survey of broadcasting representation.
Broadcast network programs had higher percentages of black female (28%) and Latina (7%) characters in major roles than programs on streaming services (21% and 3%, respectively). Streaming programs included a higher percentage of Asian and Asian American females than those on the broadcast networks (15% vs. 10%).
White people make up 57% of the country, Latinos 18.7%, black people 12% and Asians 6%.

A secret hour-long recording of an October 2021 meeting of Los Angeles city politicos surfaced last week, as California’s midterm election ballots arrived in the mail. Taking the city and nation by storm, the leaked audio exposed the cutthroat racial politics and deceit of elected officials who pretend to be tribunes of diversity.
The Prime Minister’s Office knew about an anti-racism consultant’s derogatory tweets about “Jewish white supremacists” a month before the government cancelled a $133,000 contract in which he played a key role.
The consultant, Laith Marouf, is an expert for the Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC), a non-profit that was awarded the contract earlier this year. Mr. Marouf’s tweets also derided francophones and Black and Indigenous public figures.
Last month, two men went to the movies. Dressed in black hoodies and face masks, they entered a Landmark Cinemas theatre in Kitchener, Ont., and walked into an empty auditorium. One of them slashed the movie screen and sprayed a noxious substance into the air before fleeing. The theatre had been slated to play Palthu Janwar, a Malayalam-language film.
Like America, Canada is a nation comprised of people from around the world. And like America—perhaps even more than America—Canada is wearing racial blindfolds that make the government incapable of seeing that, just as “people of color” represent many different races, lands, and cultures, the same is true for “pale faced” people. This blindness erases Canada’s rich ethnic history.
As an anthropologist who spent 17 years living and working in Sub-Saharan Africa, where Black lives really matter and where everyone belongs to a tribe with which they identify, it pains me that I must explain to fellow Canadians (and Americans) that pale-faced people are not all the same. Are they just one thing — that is, one ethnic group in contrast to the myriad of “others”? No.
OTTAWA — Global Affairs Canada committed “gross mismanagement” when it not only failed to punish an executive it knew was mistreating and humiliating employees, but eventually promoted her despite her continued abuse, according to a new watchdog report.

The author T.K. Kanwar lives the Canadian Dream, and he lives it in peace. As a second-generation Indian Canadian, he’s never admonished for his race, nor excluded from opportunity. On the contrary, he’s free to love and advocate for his people.
So why rock the boat when he could quietly live a life of opportunity and splendor? If anything, Kanwar might bolster his status by preaching the evils of white racism, the oppression of Black and Brown People.
Many do. Not Kanwar.

A movie theatre in Oakville, Ont. that earlier this year had its screens slashed says it has received new threats ahead of the release of a Tamil-language film.
In a video statement posted to Twitter, Film.Ca Cinemas CEO Jeff Knoll said both the theatre and his family have received threats “by a criminal element” that does not want the film Ponniyan Selvan shown.
“We will not cave into criminals who want to tell us how to do our business, what films we exhibit or what language they are exhibited in,” Knoll said.

Online personalities are causing trouble in the Midlands
In the digital age, conflict travels quickly. Last weekend’s Muslim-Hindu violence in Leicester later spilled into Birmingham, driven on by social media rumours, and amid claims that an incendiary Hindu preacher, Sadhvi Rithambara, was due to appear at a temple there. As it happened, Rithambara was too ill to attend, but the temple in question had already moved to cancel her appearance once local Muslims informed them about her record. But the rapid spread of violence through social media shows how sectarianism has evolved with technology.

Ms Webbe is the MP for Leicester East and, given what is going on in her constituency in recent weeks, it is not surprising that she should try to speak out.
… And what does Corbynite MP Claudia warn about? She has said the Government needs to clamp down on “extremist right-wing ideology” being spread online.
Virtually every single MP in Westminster is responsible for the ethnic and religious violence seen in Leicester.
They decided to go down the road of diversity and multiculturalism.

How identity politics is whipping up hatred and violence in our communities.
There are two disturbing things about the Muslim-Hindu clashes in Leicester. The first is the violence itself. Gangs of men have clashed across the city. Hundreds of Muslim and Hindu youths in balaclavas and Covid masks – those plague-era face-coverings still have their uses, it seems – have confronted each other on normally quiet suburban streets. Glass bottles have been thrown, a knife was allegedly wielded (one man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a ‘bladed article’). It really blew up on Saturday night into Sunday morning, as the rest of the country was preparing for the queen’s funeral. You couldn’t have asked for a better, more depressing snapshot of fragmented Britain: a display of solemn unity in Westminster, violent religious streetfighting in Leicester.
Mohammed Hijab and Ali Dawah are the open thugs with Khawarij mentality. They openly call for dèath and blood against Jews, in the streets of UK, and the police do nothing. This is really strange!

Just what is going on in Leicester? Last night violence broke out in the city after hundreds of young men in Covid masks and balaclavas took to the streets as part of an ‘unplanned protest’. The police attempted to contain the protestors but soon lost control of the situation. Videos posted online show officers struggling to contain the crowds while bottles fly and smash on the pavement around them. In another unverified video a group of men flip a car. According to the police, two arrests have been made and they are investigating several other incidents of violence and disorder.
For the past few weeks Leicester has become a kind of mini-Kashmir in the middle of England, with clashes, protests and disorder breaking out in the city between young Muslim and Hindu men. It’s a remarkable turn of events for a city which has long prided itself on being a functioning multicultural society, a place where Hindus and Muslims live alongside one another in relative harmony.

Police and community leaders have called for calm after scuffles between large crowds led to arrests after “serious disorder” in Leicester over the weekend.
Two arrests were made and a large number of people were searched under section 60 stop-and-search powers, police said.
The disorder was the latest in a series of disturbances in the east of the city that have taken place after a cricket match between India and Pakistan on 28 August.

Such is the state of England as Queen Elizabeth is laid to rest. India is soon to be the largest Muslim nation by population. This will not get better.
Some Canadians from diaspora communities called for the country’s independence from the Crown on Friday, saying the death of the Queen is a chance to rethink its ties to the monarchy.
More than 50 countries with historical links to Britain are part of the Commonwealth, which Queen Elizabeth II was head of throughout her reign. Her death Thursday came as a growing number of nations debate their relationship with the British Crown amid demands that the country apologize for its colonial-era abuses and award its former colonies slavery reparations.
