A report by Canada’s intelligence service accuses Russia, China and Iran of spreading COVID-19 disinformation to promote their strategic ambitions.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service named the trio of countries in a declassified report titled COVID-19: Global Effects and Canadian National Security Interests.
It said Russia was “actively spreading disinformation blaming the West for the virus,” as part of a broader campaign to discredit the West, promote Russian influence and push for an end to Western sanctions.

Paid leave for federal civil servants cost $1.1B during pandemic: report
Over 110,000 federal workers were granted paid leave so far during the pandemic, according to a new report from the Parliamentary Budget Office.
Published Tuesday, the report — collated from data collected from 84 of 90 federal public service organizations – states 113,362 federal civil servants booked time off between March and September under the “Code 699 paid leave for other reasons” payroll code, costing the government civil service over $1.1-billion.
‘Human experimentation’: Tory MP sponsors e-petition disputing assured coronavirus vaccine safety
Conservative MP Derek Sloan has sponsored a parliamentary e-petition that raises questions about the safety of a future coronavirus vaccine.
It also states that “bypassing proper safety protocols means COVID-19 vaccination is effectively human experimentation.”
His decision to sponsor the e-petition comes despite repeated assurances from both public health and government officials that Health Canada will only approve a vaccine that is rigorously tested and safe to use.
