Senior RCMP officer’s ‘no evidence’ comment about India seems to contradict past statements

Perhaps the most surprising part of the announcement of the joint Operation Hard Ball last week was how much the RCMP’s description of the actors involved in the killing of a Canadian Sikh activist differed from what it said only a short while ago.

Canada to buy nearly $2-billion in armoured vehicles from U.S. defence contractor

The federal government has picked the local subsidiary of a U.S. defence contractor as Ottawa’s first “strategic partner” to build capabilities for the country’s growing military, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Thursday.

As part of this, Canada will pay General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada nearly $2-billion over four years to build 190 more armoured combat support vehicles, expanding the Canadian Army’s fleet of armoured vehicles to 550 from 360, Mr. Carney said at the company’s plant in London, Ont.

Liberals pause ‘Give Grandma’s Hospital Bed To Some Freeloading Foreigner” Immigration Program

OTTAWA – The federal government will not accept any new applications this year from people who want to sponsor their parents and grandparents to come to Canada as permanent residents under a program meant to promote family reunification.

The Immigration Department said the change is part of an effort to responsibly manage the system and reduce wait times.

In a statement posted online, the department said interest in the program continues to exceed the number of available spaces.

Reduce wait times? This program should not exist. Bastards.

Canadians Like Depraved Slave Labour Camp Called China More Than US Says Pew Research Survey

Canadians’ opinions of the United States have deteriorated while their perceptions of China have improved compared to a few years ago, a new report suggests.

According to a Pew Research Center report released Wednesday, 44 per cent of Canadians surveyed between February and May hold a favourable view of China, while 33 per cent feel the same about the U.S. Last year, Canadians were “equally” favourable toward both countries. But in 2023, most Canadians had a “positive view” of the U.S. at 57 per cent, compared to 14 per cent that viewed China positively.

Carney’s $160,000 in-flight catering bill draws criticism from taxpayers group

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s delegation spent nearly $160,000 on in-flight catering during a single overseas trip, according to government records obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, prompting renewed criticism over government travel spending.

The records show Carney and a 55-member entourage spent $159,800 on meals during a week-long trip to Athens, Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg and the Canary Islands in November 2025.

That amounts to roughly $2,850 per passenger.

Hundreds rally at Winnipeg’s city hall against federal gun buyback

Hundreds of people stood in the courtyard outside Winnipeg’s city hall in 34 C heat on Monday to express their opposition to a federal effort to compensate owners of guns the Liberal government describes as “assault-style” firearms.

The $700-million program has faced widespread criticism for both its cost and its effectiveness. The federal government hoped to buy 136,000 firearms through the program but ended up with only 67,000.

Carney promotes Net Zero Pal Maia Johnson as COO of His PMO

Two members of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s inner circle are getting a boost as part of a staff shuffle prompted by the appointment of his principal secretary to the Senate and a deputy chief of staff departing to run for office.

Scott Gilmore, currently Mr. Carney’s senior adviser on foreign, defence and security policy, is being promoted to principal secretary as of later this month, three sources told The Globe and Mail.

The sources also said that Maia Johnson, currently a senior adviser for Canada-U.S. relations, is taking on an additional role as chief operating officer.

The sources said she is connected to Mr. Carney through his prior work with the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), which he launched while he was the United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance. But they did not know the specifics.

Former MP Raj Grewal faces slew of fraud allegations, possible suspension as lawyer

Ontario’s legal regulator is moving to suspend the licence of lawyer Raj Grewal as the former Liberal MP faces a slew of lawsuits accusing him, the law firm he founded, family members and associates of millions of dollars in fraud and other wrongdoing.

The Law Society of Ontario is investigating charges that Grewal may have misappropriated trust money, participated in fraud and failed to act with honour and integrity, the agency says in requesting the suspension.
