Canada is among the richest countries in the world — but when compared to peer countries like Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it isn’t as rich as it once was.

And the wealth gap between Canada and the U.S. has only grown wider, according to figures published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Canada’s relatively weak economic growth, combined with a population boom, has hit its standing among wealthy countries.

Just what we need another WEF grifter.

Since Hamas killed, unprovoked, close to 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in Israel on October 7, Trudeau has said repeatedly that Canada supports the Jewish state’s “right to defend itself.” But such words are clearly a lie, because the only right the government is standing up for is the right for Hamas to manipulate the West into turning against a democratic ally.

This morning Statistics Canada (Stat Can) released the 2022 Canadian Housing Survey, a bi-annual window into the cost of living across the country. The latest findings reveal that both renters and homeowners are increasingly struggling. Renters were most likely to report financial difficulty, but homeowners aren’t faring well either. It’s not just mortgage costs, as the fastest-growing demographic experiencing financial difficulty was mortgage-free homeowners.

Justin Trudeau’s flock is abandoning its shepherd

Oct. 22, 1844, was known as the Great Disappointment to followers of William Miller, an American preacher who promised the second coming of Jesus Christ would come on that day. (That was, in fact, the revised date, after his previous prophecy forgot to adjust for the transition from BC to AD.) When Jesus did not end up making his earthly return, Millerites, as they came to be known, were bitterly dismayed, and many immediately left the flock. Some broke off to form their own Adventist groups with separate beliefs about Christ’s return, but Millerism itself was over (even if Miller remained steadfast in his prophecies until his death in 1849).

The lesson: when a movement can’t hang onto its most ardent followers, it is as good as done.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said Canada has suspended 30 permits for arms sales to Israel and is taking the rare step of blocking a contract with the U.S. government to send Quebec-made ammunition to Israeli Defence Forces.

Canadian arms sales to, and in some cases, through the United States to third countries are not subject to Canada’s typical authorization procedure and weeks ago the U.S. announced plans to send Quebec-made ammunition to Israel.

Freeland states ‘grave concerns’ over TIFF film about Russian soldiers

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland is denouncing a documentary about Russian soldiers screening at the Toronto International Film festival (TIFF) this year.

Speaking with reporters Tuesday, Freeland — who is of Ukrainian heritage — noted that both diplomats and the Canadian-Ukrainian community have expressed “grave concerns” about the film Russians at War.

“I share those concerns,” Freeland said.

I am not sure I get her reasoning if it is indeed an anti-war film that meets with Moscow’s disapproval.

IMT Group was founded as Ingersoll Machine and Tool in Ingersoll, Ont., in 1914 in a factory designed for soap production.

The engineering firm remains headquartered in southwestern Ontario but now has six integrated businesses supplying the automotive, rail and defence industries.

One of its specialties is the production of metal casings used for 155-millimetre artillery shells. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it has found its services in high demand — so much so, that it will cut the ribbon on a new multi-million-dollar facility next month.
