The road to hell will truly be paved with ill-intent — or not at all — if a leading Liberal cabinet minister has his way.
It’s not enough to ban internal combustion engines, keep oil and gas in the ground and force all Canadians to drive electric vehicles. Now federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault wants governments at all levels to stop building the roads to drive them on.
“The white people in Canada are subhuman because of what they’ve allowed to happen,” said former Chief Councillor of the Tla’amin First Nation KWAST-en-ayu (Maynard Harry) in a 90 minute phone interview with The New Westminster Times about the City of Powell River’s controversial name change proposal.
… “White people need to acknowledge their culture is lost,” said KWAST-en-ayu bluntly. “White settler culture is a lost culture because nothing good defines white people.”
“If I insult white people, I don’t give a sh-t,” admitted KWAST-en-ayu.

New Democrats are calling on the Liberal government to have Canada formally recognize Palestine as a state, saying it would help advance peace in the Middle East.
“It’s time for Canada to do more, to build a peaceful resolution for the people of Palestine and the people of Israel,” NDP foreign affairs critic Heather McPherson said Tuesday.
McPherson will table a private member’s motion in the House of Commons that would recognize Palestinian territories as a sovereign state.

A Russian-Canadian national has admitted scheming to violate US sanctions by exporting $7 million in weapons to the Russian military for use in the Ukraine war.
Kristina Puzyreva, 32, pleaded guilty in a Brooklyn court to money laundering as part of a shadowy global conspiracy to send technology to blacklisted entities in Moscow.
Exports included components used in unnamed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and guided missile systems which were later found to have been used in Ukraine.
Seems like she gets things done, maybe put her in charge of procurement for the armed forces.

A Toronto woman whose car was stolen three times in the past year — and who had a rental car stolen too — says nobody is taking the problem seriously enough.
Kristin Shensel, a real estate broker, said her 2019 Range Rover was stolen three times since January 2023 from the street in front of her house. A rental car she used last year, a Jaguar, was also stolen.
Her car was first stolen in January 2023, then again in June 2023 and again on Wednesday night. The rental car was stolen two days after she got it in February 2023.
