My search for John Cantlie — abandoned by the UK and used as an Isis mouthpiece

The last time I saw John Cantlie neither of us said hello. It was an autumn evening in southern Turkey ten years ago. Fresh back across the border from an assignment in Syria, the British photojournalist sat unmoving in his chair at a restaurant table in Antakya while I, on the eve of crossing back into Syria, stood near the doorway with no more inclination to walk over and speak to him than he had to get up and speak to me. Instead it was James Foley, ever the charming American, who left his seat beside Cantlie and walked up to fill the space between us with his easy smile and assurance.

Prefer Hotels: Afghan refugees reject homes in Scotland and Wales because ‘it’s cold and they don’t speak English’

About 9,500 Afghans and their families evacuated from Kabul after the Taliban takeover of the country are still living in hotels a year on

Afghan refugees housed in hotels have refused moves to Scotland and Wales because they believe the countries are too cold and don’t speak English, it has emerged.

Around 9,500 Afghans and their families evacuated from Kabul after the Taliban takeover of the country are still being housed in hotels a year on, at a cost of about £1 million a day.

This comes on top of the £3 million-a-day taxpayers’ bill for hotels for 26,000 asylum seekers including Channel migrants.

Demographic suicide

Borders exist only to be crossed, identity is a relic to be deconstructed and overcome and society a supermarket. Germany as a model.

“A country loses faith in its future when its citizens no longer dare to have children”, said former Chancellor Helmut Kohl, mindful of being part of the “Flakhelfer” generation, the children used as auxiliaries of the Luftwaffe in the terrible days of the end of the war.

Thirty percent of German women today will never have children. They had thought that the society in transformation, selfish and consumerist, which is satisfied with a BMW in the garage, quiet holidays in Carinthia and in Italy, professional mobility, and silence, was sustainable.

More than a decade ago, the late historian Bernard Lewis warned in German newspapers that if current migration flows continue, Europe will be Islamic by the end of the 21st century. “Europeans marry late and have few or no children. But there is strong immigration: Turks in Germany, Arabs in France and Pakistanis in England. At the latest, following current trends, Europe will have a Muslim majority in the population at the end of the century”. German political elites – moderate (Merkel) and progressive (Scholz) – are at the forefront of making this prediction come true.

An armed man clad in body armour was killed after he tried to “breach” an FBI building in Ohio, officials say.

The suspect fled the scene in Cincinnati and was shot by police after an hours-long standoff in a rural area.

The head of the FBI said violence and threats against the agency “should be deeply concerning to all Americans”.

FBI searched Trump’s home to look for nuclear documents and other items, sources say

Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday, according to people familiar with the investigation.

Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands.

The UN is in denial about Islamic terrorism

The UAE ambassador made a bizarre statement this week

Mohamed Abushahab, the Ambassador of the UAE to the United Nations (UN), recently made a statement at a UN Security Council Briefing on the threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist attacks. Abushahab talked about the continued threat of Da’esh (Islamic State) and its affiliates as well as the fight against al-Qaeda remaining a global priority.

The Ambassador also took this opportunity to emphasize a curious point: that “there is nothing Islamic about terrorism” and to end to the use of ‘Islamic State’ in reference to Dae’sh.

Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold: House GOP Readying Hunter Biden Investigations

Democrats may be chortling about Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Largo home being searched by the FBI, but you have to wonder how happy they’ll be in January 2023 when the new Republican House majority uses the full scope of its power to investigate Hunter Biden’s influence-peddling and his father’s furthering his son’s crooked business interests.

Greenpeace’s Patrick Moore and the hardcore evidence against climate change myths

One of the most interesting persons I interviewed for the New York Sun was Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace.

I had mistakenly expected him to be one of those left-wing environmental wackos, but he was anything but.

He had left Greenpeace after realizing that the group was more interested in social machinations than in helping humanity. He was also the only one in Greenpeace at the time with a scientific background.

The Mar-a-Lago raid is a dangerous moment for America

Those desperate to lock up Trump are a menace to the republic.

You know a nation is in trouble when its security services are raiding the residence of a former president. Doubly so when said nation’s supposedly liberal intelligentsia seem tickled pink about this unprecedented development, without a whiff of concern or scepticism about what the feds are up to. That’s where the United States is at the moment, in the wake of the FBI’s search of former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on Monday, reportedly over a dispute about missing official documents.
