Canada has spent years asking who is interfering inside its borders. Operation Hard Ball raises a harder question: who is using Canada to interfere, intimidate, or operate beyond them?

That is the core of reverse foreign interference. The term is not yet part of Canadian law, but it belongs in Canada’s national-security vocabulary. It describes cases in which transnational criminal, extremist, or digitally enabled networks use Canadian territory, legal protections, diaspora communities, transport routes, immigration systems, or digital space to target people, institutions, or foreign jurisdictions from Canadian soil.

Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine was never about protecting Russians or strengthening Russia’s place in the world. It was always a war of neo-imperialist vanity, consolidation of power, organized theft and cultural annihilation.

When Putin announced his “special military operation” in February 2022, he claimed Russia was eliminating imaginary “Nazis” in Ukraine. In reality, the objective was to destroy Ukrainian identity, language and culture, re-colonize a democratic European nation, and prove to the Russian people and the world that Putin remained a leader of historic consequence.

How many times is this “The end of Putin”? Grift is the only constant.

A Canadian couple is suing the surrogate mother who carried their son, two years after she refused their request to abort the fetus because of a cleft lip and possible genetic abnormalities.

The Ontario-based surrogate insisted that more tests be conducted and eventually the same-sex couple agreed to let the pregnancy continue, as specialists indicated he was a healthy child with a relatively minor birth defect.

NASA reveals it has captured UFO imagery as space agency chief admits ‘there’s life everywhere’

NASA’s chief administrator confirmed in a bombshell interview that the space agency has taken images of objects which can only be described as UFOs.

Jared Isaacman, who took over as leader of NASA in December 2025, said real imagery captured from space could not be explained away as a comet or other natural phenomenon.

While Isaacman stopped short of calling it proof of alien life, he was confident that the ultimate conclusion would be that the universe is full of extraterrestrial life, which humans have not yet discovered.

ANKARA, Turkiye – Prime Minister Mark Carney was given a personalized, engraved pistol and live ammunition by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he departed the NATO summit in Ankara on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed all NATO leaders received the unusual gift from Erdogan.

Global Affairs Canada said in a statement to reporters travelling with Carney that the gun has been turned over to the RCMP.

How can we de-programme the police?

I’m not sure why I started following the photographer Alastair Hilton on X. He’s right-ish politically, so perhaps the algorithm just blew him my way. But through the rising tide of online bilge, I still seek out and enjoy Hilton’s posts, mostly because he talks about pubs and posts pictures of cold pints on hot days.

Hilton has a narrowboat on the Thames in Chiswick and seems to half live in the bars along the river, so he was extremely cross about a recent proposal to remove the tables and chairs from the riverside, especially from his local pub, the Bell and Crown. Last week he posted a video in which he said that the word on the Chiswick street is that getting rid of the outdoor seating was the sneaky pet project of a local Green party councillor, Rick Rowe, who lives Thames-side with his boyfriend and dislikes the noise – though you’d have thought a local councillor would support a struggling pub.
