In Canada, such claims are now detached from reality. Today, public-sector positions offer salaries, pensions, benefits, and job security that often exceed what comparable workers in the private economy can expect to earn. In some sectors, government and Crown corporation employment has become not merely competitive with private enterprise, but superior to it in compensation, stability, and lifestyle.

This question has often run through my head. Maybe it’s the question everyone living with chronic illness asks themselves at certain times. Which is to say, “What is a good life? What is a life worth living?”
For 40 years I’ve lived with Type 1 diabetes. There have been good years and bad years. Complications, some challenging, most manageable, built up over time. Then, four years ago I developed long COVID. Diabetes was plenty to manage. Long COVID’s neurological effects took living with disability to a whole other level. It was, at times, too much.

“What the hell is wrong with these people?” I heard someone ask as a clip of Jasmine Crockett played on the television at the restaurant bar the other day. What was Crockett talking about? Her sympathy for the murderer named Karmelo Anthony because he’s black. Yes, that’s why she cares, or at least pretends to care, about the fate of the man who’ll spend at least the next 17.5 years of his life in prison in Texas. How could anyone, real or not, go on camera and express sympathy for a murderer, at the expense of the murder victim and his family, no less? There’s really only one possibility: the cancerous cultural rot Democrats have forced and enforced on the black community.

Most young Canadians view the military favourably, but only a minority would seriously consider joining its ranks, according to new Department of National Defence research highlighting ongoing recruitment challenges for the Canadian Armed Forces.
Blacklock’s Reporter says the study found that while 79% of Canadians under 34 hold a positive opinion of the military, just 30% said they would likely consider a career in the armed forces.
