UFO conference lands in Canada as Trump administration continues to release documents

A leading UFO conference is landing in Canada this summer. Featuring a keynote presentation from a former Pentagon insider, the conference aims to promote government transparency and the scientific study of what’s also known as “unidentified anomalous phenomena,” or “UAP” for short. The Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies’ conference comes as the Trump administration continues its rolling release of decades of official UFO videos, images and reports.

“There’s quite a bit of stuff that I’ve seen in the past that was not included,” former Pentagon official Christopher Mellon told CTVNews.ca. “I hope it will be. Some of it was kind of dramatic.”

Cost of divorce keeping Canadians in unhappy marriages longer, survey finds

For some Canadians, the decision to end a marriage isn’t being driven solely by the state of the relationship – it’s also being shaped by the state of their finances.

A new survey from BMO suggests the rising cost of living and broader economic uncertainty are influencing when Canadians choose to separate, with many delaying the decision because they simply can’t afford the financial fallout.

The survey found that nearly two-in-five (37 per cent) divorced or separated Canadians said that the financial cost of divorce or legal separation kept them in their marriage longer that they wanted.

Last month’s World Happiness Report offered a striking data point – Canada’s youth ranked 71st globally on measures of mental well-being. Last year, Ontario’s Auditor-General found that more than half the province’s children and youth didn’t have access to adequate mental health care when they needed it.

12-year-old boy charged with attempted murder after hitting Toronto police officer with stolen vehicle

Toronto police say a 12-year-old boy is facing an attempted murder charge after an officer was struck by a stolen vehicle he was driving in East York early Monday morning.

Officers responded to Donlands Avenue and O’Connor Drive for an auto theft call just after 1 a.m. Police said officers discharged their firearms as they attempted to stop the driver who was allegedly fleeing the scene.

The officer was struck, and left with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Joly to meet Chinese EV makers in Shanghai in bid to attract auto sector investment

Industry Minister Mélanie Joly says she will be meeting with four Chinese companies that are considering building electric vehicles in Canada when she visits China this week in an effort to attract investment to this country’s auto sector.

The four companies – BYD, Chery, Geely and Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology – have been examining possible investments in Canada, Ms. Joly said in an interview. Shanghai Launch’s proposal includes a partnership with British automaker Austin Motor Co., she added.

Canada is a very small market, without US access the ChiComs will just smile and wave at Joly but if she offers to subsidize China’s slavers with tax payer dollars they might perk up a bit.

Protests have rocked the United Kingdom following a murder conviction that raised stark questions about police conduct and equal treatment under the law. In December 2025, 18-year-old university student Henry Nowak was fatally stabbed during an altercation with Vickrum Digwa in Southampton.
