A California county that faced a $91 million budget gap this year has approved a sweeping reparations plan for black residents, the first of its kind in the Golden State, that calls for major changes to housing, education, healthcare and criminal justice — while leaving the door open to cash payments.

Obviously, word of this has not reached the ABC and NBC television networks. The networks flatly refused to carry an address to the nation from the President of the United States. The President’s subject: Accusing China of meddling in US elections and “shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure.”
OTTAWA — The Liberal government has yet to say whether it plans to extend Canada’s ban on foreign homebuyers, even as internal briefing notes warned time is running short to renew the policy through the existing regulatory process before the ban expires.
If the government does nothing, Canada’s ban, which first came into force in 2023, will sunset automatically on Jan. 1, 2027. The ban currently prevents anyone who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident from purchasing a home in any urban area in the country.
“The Odyssey” is off to an epic start at the box office.
