According to a poll released two weeks ago by Abacus Data, Mark Carney and the Liberals hold a six-point lead over Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives, 43 per cent to 37 per cent. Nothing startling there, most pollsters have the Liberals as much as 10 points ahead.
But just beneath the headline numbers, Abacus shows some intriguing facts about the Canadian electorate.

In the run-up to the hearing, Paul released more than 1,000 pages of emails and Slack messages sent by Fauci and his associates before and during the pandemic, including an astonishing diary that Fauci had kept during the critical years of 2019 to 2022.
There may be no more hazardous exercise for a Canadian newspaper columnist these days than attempting to interpret Donald Trump’s trade policies. Yesterday morning one of the Bee’s headlines read “To Fight Antisemitism, Mamdani Announces Mandatory ‘Safety Camps’ for Jewish Residents.” The article has Mamdani supposedly saying that the “best way to keep Jews safe is by concentrating them into tiny camps away from those who would do them harm,” with further references to transporting them by train as part of the mayor’s “final solution” to the antisemitism problem.
