One dead, several wounded as Afghan goes on stabbing rampage at German Euros party

A knife attacker killed one person and severely injured two more in a rampage at a Euros party in east Germany before being shot dead by police.

The man entered a garden in the city of Magdeburg where a family were hosting a private party to watch Germany’s opening match against Scotland.

Inside the garden, the attacker stabbed at least three football fans. Two suffered severe wounds.

… According to information from the police, the perpetrator was an Afghan (27). According to the “Magdeburger Volksstimme” newspaper, he had previously threatened people with a knife in the garden area opposite. Local residents called the police.

Singh won’t break pact with Liberals despite concern PM isn’t protecting democracy

OTTAWA – Federal New Democrat Leader Jagmeet Singh is not willing to break ranks with the minority Liberal government, even after criticizing the prime minister for failing to protect Canada’s democracy.

Singh says the evidence shows Justin Trudeau is willing to accept some level of foreign interference, which weakens democracy and undermines the confidence of Canadians.

Camp intifada? Anti-Israel encampment to host revolutionary summer camp at Canadian university

An anti-Israel protest encampment at the Canadian McGill University is set to host a revolution summer camp for youth starting Monday, Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights McGill announced on Thursday.

Posted on Instagram with a promotional image of keffiyeh-garbed men armed with light machine guns and rifles reading, the summer camp doesn’t clarify the age of campers, but promises to “educate the youth of Montreal and redefine McGills’s ‘elite’ institutional legacy by transforming its space into one of revolutionary legacy.”

I swear they’re being trolled.

The NDP Leader used that word. He had read the secret, unredacted version of the report on foreign interference drafted by a committee of parliamentarians. And he referred to the activities of some MPs in the House of Commons as unethical, and in some cases against the law.

“They are indeed traitors to the country,” he told reporters.

“If defence lawyers ever get a whiff of the fact the RCMP has relied on CSIS information, they will demand to test that information in court,” warns Phil Gurski, a former strategic analyst at CSIS. For this reason, cases built on CSIS evidence are often not prosecuted. It is possible Qiu and Cheng were allowed to leave the country because the mountain of proof incriminating them was inadmissible in court.

Gaza Pier to Be Torn Down Again Due to Rough Seas: Report

The U.S. military is said to be considering dismantling the humanitarian pier off the coast of Gaza for the second time in weeks due to rough sea conditions in the eastern Mediterranean.

Just days after aid delivery operations resumed, concerns about heavy seas potentially damaging the rebuilt $230 million pier have led military officials to consider its temporary dismantling, CBS News reported Thursday.

Multiple Pentagon officials have reportedly indicated that the pier, known as Joint Logistics Over the Shore (JLOTS), will be relocated back to Israel’s Ashdod port sometime on Friday to wait out the weather. This would mark the second time in weeks that the fragile pier and causeway has been dismantled.

Japanese band pulls music video with ape-like natives

A Japanese rock band has pulled the music video for its new song “Columbus” after drawing flak for scenes that depicted Christopher Columbus with ape-like men.

The video shows three historical figures teaching the ape-like beings to do various things, like how to ride on horses and play musical instruments.

The video swiftly sparked a backlash after it was released on Wednesday – it was removed just a day later.

I love the Japanese.
