Human rights panel accuses Canada of genocide against Indigenous population
MONTREAL — An international panel of human rights experts has accused Canada of committing genocide against its Indigenous population after a week of hearings in Montreal.
The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal was mandated to look at missing and disappeared children and unmarked graves at Canada’s residential school sites, as well as the forced sterilization of Indigenous women, through the lens of international law.
The panel of seven judges said Canada historically adopted a series of policies that they deemed were crimes against humanity with genocidal intent, including the residential schools, which were in operation for over 150 years. The last residential school closed in 1996.

Same sex couple puzzled by fertility tax credit that doesn’t cover sperm
A same-sex couple in Saskatchewan who is considering options to have a baby was disappointed to learn a provincial fertility tax credit doesn’t cover one key ingredient: sperm.
Saskatchewan introduced the Fertility Treatment Tax Credit (FTTC) last year – a 50 per cent refundable tax credit for eligible treatments, prescription drugs and other fertility expenses.

Large groups of men twice seen climbing in and out of manholes in Brooklyn for unknown reason
New York City might have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle problem.
Trespassers were seen climbing into an open manhole on a Brooklyn street early Friday morning not once, but twice, cops said.
Just like the movie creatures who famously lived in the city sewer system, the group of about a half-dozen men have been spending hours in the slimy underground.

The House Judiciary Committee released a memo on Friday that details what it says is a pattern of neglect and abuse of taxpayer funds during the Biden administration. These funds, according to the memo, went directly and indirectly to anti-Israel protests and terrorist-linked NGOs.
The funds were disbursed through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the State Department and other federal agencies.
