On 12 August 2017, I ran from the car that James Alex Fields, a white supremacist, plowed into a crowd of anti-racist organizers in Charlottesville, Virginia. Other people’s blood splattered on me. I lost my friends in the crowd and panicked. I thought I might die.
A month later, I woke up on a work trip in a hotel room alone in Oakland, California, with my hands trembling, and an unshakeable feeling that I was being chased by a pack of wild animals. I was having a mental breakdown.
This feeling did not cease for months. Repairing myself from that breakdown took years. In many ways, it is ongoing.

Two days before a gunman killed Kirk in cold blood during an event at Utah Valley University, Jezebel called upon witches to perform some hocus pocus against the conservative activist: “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.” The sub-headline needs no explanation: “If the far-right misogynist with a bad haircut wants to villainize independent women, Jezebel is more than happy to be the hag of his nightmares.” If this doesn’t classify as pure evil we don’t know what does.
Hate-site Bluesky, a social media outlet for the left-wing elite where violence against anyone the left see as the enemy is openly celebrated without consequence, issued a phony “warning” to those cheering Wednesday’s political assassination of 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

As Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government prepares to announce the first projects of national interest it has selected, Radio-Canada has learned that no oil pipeline is on the list, according to three sources that have spoken to Radio-Canada.
“There is no [oil] pipeline project on the table,” one of them said, despite the federal government’s promise to make Canada an “energy superpower.”
Carney has never ruled out the idea of supporting the construction of a new pipeline.
