Vaccine rule for Springsteen Broadway show adds travel uncertainty for AstraZeneca recipients

David Screech had already selected his seats and put in his credit card information for Springsteen on Broadway tickets when he noticed the COVID-19 vaccine requirements: his two doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford wouldn’t be enough for admission.

Screech, the mayor of View Royal, B.C., and a Springsteen fan of 40 years, received his second AstraZeneca dose last week, but the Jujamcyn Theaters’ website said it would only allow guests “fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine” — Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.

The St. Louis couple who were seen holding firearms as Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists approached their home pleaded guilty to several misdemeanor charges and surrendered their guns.

Mark McCloskey, a lawyer, pleaded guilty to a Class C misdemeanor of fourth-degree assault, while his wife, Patricia McCloskey, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor of second-degree harassment. They will pay the maximum fines of $2,000 and $750, and they won’t serve any jail time.

A high court in the US state of South Carolina has blocked two executions until the inmates are given the choice of death by electrocution or firing squad.

A new law requires inmates on death row to decide between the two methods if lethal drugs are not available.

But as prison authorities have not yet formed a firing squad, the executions have been halted by the supreme court.

Court filings suggest that FBI operatives were among the mob who stormed the US Capitol in January, and may have set up the riot. With the riot used as justification for new terrorism policy, the media is downplaying the story.

“Granted, it’s not like progressive sympathy for looting is a new thing. Still, I thought the video from that San Fran Walgreens that I posted this morning would draw more uniform condemnation on social media. Normally when liberals defend theft it’s in the context of a riot following an incident of alleged police brutality, when America’s racist history can be cited as provocation.”

Queen’s University has become embroiled in an increasingly public dispute over whether some of its faculty and other associates are falsely holding themselves out to be Indigenous, thereby harming the cause of First Nations people.

An anonymous report into the identity claims posted on social media earlier this month takes specific aim at six academics and others associated with the school it says are not genuinely Indigenous.

“Our findings confirm that Queen’s University is currently overrun with white Canadians making false claims to Indigenous — especially Algonquin — identity,” the report states. “We are confident that our thorough research has focused on six of the most prominent and harmful cases, most of whom play inordinate roles as ‘Indigenous’ gatekeepers on campus.”
