Iraqi asylum seeker who raped girls as young as 12 after plying them with drink and drugs at mini-mart before raping them is jailed for 29 years

An asylum seeker who raped seven schoolgirls after he groomed them with drinks and drugs has been jailed for 29 years.

Bawan Harwe, 28, messaged the girls, aged between 12 and 16, under a fake name, earning their trust before raping and abusing them.

The Iraqi national targeted his underage victims because of their age, and lured them to his flat by offering money and e-cigarettes before plying them with alcohol and drugs.

Toronto cop’s murder comes after 2 1/2 years of festering hate and terror

This evil murder of a Toronto cop didn’t just come from out of the blue – it came as a result of rising crime in the city and was born out of world-wide terror.

“These are paid, foreign elements that are attacking our city and causing this kind of death in our city, to one of our police officers and way beyond random shootings at schools and synagogues,” City Councillor Mike Colle said Thursday.

Markham: Muslim youth face Islamophobic backlash for exercising their religious right to burn school Pride Flags

York police say two suspects are facing charges in a potentially hate-motivated incident that saw a Markham school’s Pride flag burned.

Officers responded to the school located near Yonge Street and Clark Avenue in Markham on Tuesday for reports that the flag had been burned. The school was not named by police.

Two 18-year-old suspects, identified as Sepehr Abadar and Mahan Mohammad Radmard, both of Markham, have each been charged with mischief under $5,000.

Taliban hunt down women who flouted hijab ban

The Taliban are hunting down women who took part in rare anti-hijab protests in Afghanistan, The Telegraph can reveal.

Residents said authorities were carrying out door-to-door raids across Herat to track down Afghans who appeared in videos of the demonstrations, which took place on Tuesday.

At least two people, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed when security forces opened fire on protesters gathered in Herat to demonstrate against mandatory hijab orders.

The protests erupted in response to a Taliban directive ordering women to wear a “proper hijab” – defined as having the face and body completely covered with only the eyes visible. Women found violating the rule face unspecified punitive measures, the directive said.

Video footage verified by the Telegraph shows Taliban fighters violently suppressing anti-government protests. The clips show Taliban fighters striking protesters with large sticks and batons.

Reports: Belfast Knife Suspect Was Sudanese Police Officer

The Sudanese migrant accused of the Belfast knife attack that triggered widespread riots this week is a former policeman from a prominent family in northern Sudan, according to new reports.

Friends told British media that Hadi Alodid briefly served with the police in Khartoum before leaving the country after the outbreak of civil war in 2023.

The revelation emerged as Northern Ireland experienced a second night of disorder, with police making 16 arrests and reporting injuries to 12 officers.
