Under the edicts of their founder, Jamil Mukulu, who once lived as a cleric in London, anyone who strays across them in their forest hideouts should be killed on sight. ‘Slaughter him or her, behead them immediately,’ Mukulu once commanded. ‘Never give it a second thought, do not hesitate.’

Toronto’s Cardinal Leo urges Trudeau government not to touch tax status of pro-life, religious groups

Cardinal Francis Leo of the Archdiocese of Toronto is expressing “profound concern” over the Trudeau government’s desire to strip pro-life groups of their tax charity status.

In a letter dated February 21, 2025, addressed to Canadian Minister of Finance Dominic LeBlanc, Leo called upon the Liberal government to stop its planned attacks against the charitable tax status of pro-life groups.

Seven NZ churches targeted in suspected arson spree

Seven churches have been targeted in a suspected arson attack that occurred overnight in New Zealand.

Four churches in the town of Masterton, north of the capital Wellington, sustained “moderate to significant” damage, while evidence was found to suggest three more buildings had been targeted but did not catch fire.

Crews from across the Wairarapa region responded to the fires at about 04:30 local time on Saturday (15:30 GMT on Friday).

For years, we’ve seen Christian places of worship targeted in acts of arson and vandalism. Yet, until now, official confirmation of the scale of the problem has been curiously absent. That has changed. The French territorial intelligence service has reported a 30 per cent increase in criminal church fires in 2024. That’s not a handful of isolated incidents – it’s a surge. And a deeply troubling one at that.

Speaking at two events in Washington for the annual National Prayer Breakfast, Trump announced a string of initiatives, including a presidential commission on religious liberty and a White House “faith office”.

Syria: Christians Facing Existential Terrorist Threat

The al-Qaeda-linked terrorist organization Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the “Organization for the Liberation of the Levant” — a coalition of Syrian and international Islamist groups — took control of Syria, after a 10-day offensive, on December 8, 2024.

Since then, hostility against Christians and other minorities in Syria has soared. Christians are increasingly the victims of intimidation, vandalism, violence and discrimination. They are hostages at the hands of Islamists.

It’s the end of the Christmas season, and at first glance something wonderful seems to have taken place. Canadians have rediscovered their nation’s Christian roots.

Or have they?

Cheerful evidence that they have can be found in the 40 or so cities and provinces, including Toronto, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Saskatchewan, that for the first time have officially declared December to be Christian Heritage Month.

I do not attend “Winter Villages” or “Holiday Parties”

You can take Christmas out of the market, but you can’t change the fact that it’s still a Christmas market.

But they are sure going to try.

Just when you thought the politically correct, woke, cancel-culture world was starting to be pushed back upon comes word Toronto’s most famous Christmas market is actually more of a seasonal market.

They call it the Distillery Winter Village.

Hardship, war and settlers driving Christians out of Holy Land

The Persian armies that swept through Palestine in the early 7th century laid waste to every church they came to with the exception of one.

It is said that upon arriving in Bethlehem at the Church of the Nativity the conquering general, Shahrbaraz, decided to spare it when he saw a mosaic of the three wise men depicted on one of the walls of the 6th-century basilica wearing Persian clothing.

Six hundred years later, the church would again narrowly escape destruction following the arrival of Sultan Baibars, who persecuted Christians and pulled down the town walls.

Apparently Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba’s Christian point of view was a bit too inclusive

When Canadian progressives talk about “inclusion,” you can be sure that Christians are about to be excluded.

When the Canadian Armed Forces issued a directive instructing chaplains that they must be “inclusive” at Remembrance Day ceremonies, for example, they meant that Christian prayers and traditional symbolism were to be excluded, especially because — as a 2022 report from the DND noted — Christianity is “a source of suffering and intergenerational trauma” for many Canadians, with this being “especially true for many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirited members of Canadian society.”
